Wheel locks are for casual opportunity theft deterrent... pros have the means to remove in seconds. Same tool(s) used at tire shops when an owner has lost the wheel lock key. Here is the wheel lock provided by GM... are these the ones you feel are "ugly"

There have been a number of posts over the years with cars sitting on blocks after the wheels were stolen. In all cases they didn't have wheel locks installed. I have yet to see any post of someone with locks that had their wheels stolen. That must mean something. These are the Gorilla locks that have one on each stud. Sorry for them being a little dirty.

Thanks, that looks quite nice. I know nothing is fool proof, but I would think these do make a stealer maybe look for an easier target. I will buy these, as I also figure if stolen I can show my insurance company I had wheel locks.

Gorilla also make a style where the outside part spins, and the key fits differently than most of the other types. I got mine off Amazon a few months ago for like $12 or $13. For that little bit of money, it can't hurt.
My first pic in this thread was the OEM setup...I switched to black chrome wheels with black Gorilla lugs including locking lug (one closest to brake caliper)>>

I have posted this before. I had a car (not a Vette) in a dealerships lot for MAJOR warranty repair. All 4 wheels and tires disappeared one night and I HAD locks on.
I found out how easy it is to remove wheels WITH locks, and for that reason there is no reason to WASTE your money on this product.
They will buy you little in the time factor needed to remove the wheels.
Best bet try to park your ride in a good area and make sure your insurance covers your wheel & tires.
If you don't mind spending some $$, check into Project Kics Neochrome lugs. They look amazing on chrome/polished wheels and are lighter than the above lugs but just as strong.

So, still no Vettes with locks have had their wheels stolen as far as this forum is concerned. The purpose of the locks is not to prevent the professional from getting your wheels and tires. They will get them if you give them a chance. It's to prevent the ordinary scum bag and
to make my wheels harder to steal than yours. The Gorilla locks will do that and for 45 bucks is pretty hard to go wrong.
