I have an 05. I looked in the search section but without much success. Can I take my vette to a quality auto stereo shop and have them install an Ipod connection that I can plug into. Are the shops sophisticated enough to make this kind of installation (and I know it depends on the shop). But as a general rule are the stereo shops up on doing stuff like this? Thanks
Note: The new GM's PAL adapter seems to work only on '07 and newer.
In the GM Parts House Exclusive PAL Update thread you could read this:
"It does work with 05 and 06 models, but unfortunately, due to the difference in timing of the displays on the radios between 07 and up and 06 and earlier, it will not display the artist and song name on the navigation. All you will see is garbage characters from time to time.. but the PAL will function and act as it does on the other years, but the artist name and song title will not display. Obviously due to the costs to produce and engineer something like this, they will not be working on perfecting the version for 06 and earlier."
No one has tested the PAL on a '05 or '06 yet (NOt even GM)
That is correct. The general consensus is that it will work but there may be some text display problems regarding the song title and artist info. The hardkeys and functions will be fine.
I got tired of waiting for the PAL two years ago. I had the whole Bose system removed and all new put in including a new Kenwood H/U. with touch screen, video and Ipod access. The sreen comes up very similar to the Ipods and its a joy to use. The Ipod is kept in the glove and it can stay there( automatically charging) or easily popped out for my other cars use. More expensive than some other options but you get great sound reproduction and other great features.

You should be able to find a shop that has done C6 stereo installs in your area.
Take the information provided in the link to Ray Kawal's IPOD interface comparison and let them decide if they want to tackle it. Should not be too difficult or expensive for a competent shop to install.
