Default Problem keeping wheels clean

Does anyone else have a lot of problems trying to keep the wheels clean especially the front ones from all the brake dust?

You might want to consider swapping out the pads for ceramic one... much less dust. And for most guys they also don't squeak/ squeal like the OEM/ stock pads. I got mine from Hawk when I swapped pads/ rotors. My "front" never appear any dirtier than the "rears" and are easily cleaned with soap and water... Also waxing the wheels occasionally seems to help.

I just live with it. No big deal to clean the dust off with a damp towel.

Yes! But I found a solution to this problem. Don't use the brakes.

I put a coat of Rejex on my wheels and they stay cleaner longer now. Plus when I wash the car, the wheels go back to looking new with just a wipe down ( no more scrubbing..).

Welcome to the world of high performance brakes.

As a stopgap between washes, I use a swiffer-type dusting wipe. It pulls most of the brake dust off. It usually takes two to do all four wheels, depending how dirty they are.

I wash my DD 08 coupe every other day.
I also wax my factory chrome wheels using Meguiars Gold Class paste wax at least once a week.
That keeps the brake dust off the wheels and keeps them looking good.

You'll also lose some braking power by switching to ceramic brake pads.

I've had them on my C5 --- there is not enough deterioration in braking for street use that you would even notice. Perhaps a tiny bit of delay in the initial braking and a bit more brake pedal pressure, but unless you are really paying attention, you will not even notice --- and for the street, as long as you have anti lock brakes, the tires are much more of a deciding factor than your brakes.

My formula is zinc treated rotors+ Porterfield R4S performance pads+ Rejex and a Swifer Duster just to clean off minor dust (more from road than pads)...

I'd rather have max braking power.

Of course that is your choice....but braking power is subjective. For street use you will NOT notice any difference. At least I don't AND my wheels stay cleaner LONGER and what dust does get on the wheels cleans up EASY.

I never have a problem with brake dust because I wash and wax my wheels quite often.

I went with Carbotech 1521's, best of both worlds (limited brake dust and excellent braking), Couldn't be happier.

Insignificant loss unless you track your car.

Co'mon.... I have owned 2 Vettes and brake dust is a problem just going around the block. Until that is, I got my Ceramic Pads from Gene. I have the chrome wheels and they look bad when they are full of dust.....and a ride to the store and back will make them full of dust. You mean to tell me you wash your wheels EVERYTIME you drive it.
