Default Anyone else have a problem!

With hauling large people, I had a friend in the 350 plus club wanting a ride. In my 02 Z! Cracking sounds getting in and out! Never again. I'm nice about it but no way!

My friend "Heffy" let's call her, wanted to go for a ride my '04 Z when I first bought it. Heffy is a sweet girl, but let's just say she loves the buffet. Struggling to find a reason to tell her no, I had to say yes, it was ugly.

She opened the door, turned around so that her butt was facing the interior, grabbed the B piller with one man hand and the A with the other and FLOPPED all 300lbs of her herself into the passenger seat. And when I say flopped, I mean threw herself, I've never seen 300lbs of woman move at that velocity before, I was in the drivers seat and her butt was coming right at me. She bounced off the center console with her left hip and then squished and squeezed herself into the seat, the chair barking in agony with every readjustment, the creaks and groans and loud cracks were excruciatingly painful to listen to.

To make matters worse, once situated, she then grabbed the seat back adjustment and proceeded to push back on the seat back as hard as she could while yanking up on the adjustment lever.

CRACK!

One broken seat.

I was speechless.

Her comment as she was exiting the car? (the exit was another site to behold)

"American cars are made so cheaply"

I had the seat fixed and she has never been in any of my subsequent cars, not even the SUV's.

I do not have any friends in that weight class, took a couple for a ride that were around 285 lbs. no snap, crackle or pop.

As she walked away someone said to her... "you got something on your butt..... oh wait it's a Vette"

No problems here...the largest person I've had in my car was my oldest son who's 6'4" and a buff 225+ pounds. To his credit he knows how to properly enter and exit the car without crashing-down or sliding into the seat or needing to grasp something to drag himself out. He could have used a little extra leg room but even wearing a helmet he managed just fine.

I wouldn't be too concerned going forward...in the re-making of America our new government will eradicate "large" people through taxation and by denying medical care under government health insurance. It's not cost effective to provide medical care to overweight, obese or even to older people.

None of this will matter after obama bankrupts the country while outlawing Corvettes

You know what they say: Fat chicks are like mopeds; fun until your friends catch you on one!

I can't say that I have had the experiences that some of you have had, but I have had my wife's 80 year old aunt use my vette as a railing while walking out of the garage.....cringe! Suffice it to say I have told everyone in the family that I will give her a piggy back ride if I have to, but she is coming and going through the front door from now on.

this calls for a few of the old favorites:

your momma's so fat she has to iron her dresses on the driveway
your momma's so fat she has smaller fat women orbiting around her
your momma's so fat her shadow weighs 100 pounds

and last but not least

your momma's so fat that when she stepped into the street I ran out of gas trying to swerve to avoid her

You should charge your "big-boned" rider for 2 seats like the airlines do.

Take the top off, and they can get in just fine.

Hell, I'm just shy of 6'2" and 285 and have no problems getting in or out of the Vette. while not as small as I once was, I can still get into Miatas, Porsches or any other sports car just fine.

Being big is one thing, being morbidly obese is another.

6'1" and about 275 and have no issue getting in and out of my vette even when I'm parked in my detached garage which has the wall 10" away from the door. I do have a bad back and have issues getting in and out of my brothers 911 and his Mini Cooper
