Could you post a picture and maybe it's not as bad and repairable as at first blush.
As to all the commandos out there that want to go out and confront the perps in person, my advice is let the insurance company handle it as there's a lot of crazy people out there and you might be biting off more than you can chew.
There has to be something more than this going on.I have noticed an increased number of Corvettes on here being keyed.
I have also seen C5s going for $10-12000 and just recently a 38000 mile 07 sell for $20,000.
So it can't be because these cars are expensive because anyone can afford one at these kind of prices. These are Honda Civic prices.
I agree with alot of the above. Lack of class. Lack of respect. Anger of not being as well off. Jealousy of someone having it better. The assumption that the owner must be a jerk. His car is faster than mine. His car cost more than mine, etc. etc. Call it what you will. Pick your poison. It all boils down to lack of respect. Very common in today's world here in the US.
I never drive my Vette anywhere unless I know that it's somewhere the risk of riff-raff is low.
To the OP - Hope the marks come out and you're happy with the fix. I feel for you. I once had a "prize car" of mine that got keyed the entire length of one side. It's a real pisser.

I feel your pain...happened to me a few weeks ago...I used polishing compound very sparingly, then went back with several coats of wax. If you know where to look, you can still see the marks. Good luck. Hope it cleans up for you.

perhaps your friendly neighborhood eco-terrorists....but then again, some dope keying a vette probably has no clue of the actual value of the car. However the perceived value.....
Class has nothing to do with it. There are jerks at all income levels. Especially kids that have had it handed to them all their lives..
Kids that I knew that had things handed to them all their lives drove 911 turbos to high school. They wouldnt have given a vette the time of day, much less the interest in keying it. Someone who had their welfare alcoholic dad's handed down mini-van....well that was a whole different story.
If you cant feel it with your finger nail it will buff out. Dont put zaino on it until you buff it out, the zaino will seal the scratch. I feel very bad for you,GOOD LUCK.
It's not always class warfare, just a lack of class.
Part of the problem is society and it's permissiveness to youth. Gone are the days when respect was earned, and hard work meant something. Most kids today have that socialist mentality that they are OWED something. We all know that is BS, no one is owed anything. One must work for it.
And when you do work hard, young or old, and have something nice (like in this instance a Corvette) someone else (who is a piece of sh%$#T), well, they want to ruin it. Why should you have something nice, that you busted your a$$ for, when they are too lazy to get themselves educated and then work hard to earn one.
And even if the perps are caught, they get a fine and no jail time. Remember the kid back in the 80's who did that in Thailand and got caned? Maybe, if we did that to the perps, there would be far less of this type of occurrence happening.
I wish I lived in Texas and the laws were a bit more victim oriented. You catch em and shoot em they are trophies not victims. The current laws in most states are victim oriented and SUCK as far as our society goes. Till things change and breaking the laws against property grows some teeth, these types of crimes will continue unchecked. There basically isn't any penalty for breaking them!

I can agree with this. I see this every day in my work.
Would definately ruin my day if it happened to me ,I always do a walk around my car when I park it somewhere to see if something bad happens to the car from some idiot like the one that damaged yours. Good luck in the AM hope you cant see anything severe enough to bother you but if you do try a good body shop good luck!
