I just bought my first C6 today and I'm more excited than I can even put in words. It's an '05 Convertable, upgraded wheels, Borla Exhaust, supposedly it's chipped although I dont know much about the chips for the C6.
So what are some of the basics I should know about my new C6? I've had a C3 for a while now and it goes without saying that's a completely different ballgame. These cars are so far technilogically advanced then any car I've had I'd just like to know if there's anything I should know right upfront about the car.
One thing is I did notice somewhat of a rattle that seemed to come from under the car and have absolutely no clue what that could be. But I did buy the extended warranty so anything that takes a dump on me should be covered for the next 3 years.
Any advice/info anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Best of luck with your C6. Word of caution regarding the "chip" you mention in your post. If someone had a "tune" done and you have problems with the engine a GM technician can detect a change in the stock program. Even if the tune is unloaded and the stock program is put back the tech will still be able to see that. You could have a warranty issue as GM is cracking down on tunes. Got this info direct from Paul of CorvetteMechanic.Com while I was at the Carlisle event last week. Hopefully you won't have any issues. Enjoy your new ride.
Congratulations The first thing you already mentioned is that you only have ONE SINGLE rattle!! I'm sure that your C3 has numerous rattles and shakes at 100 mph!! LOL. Your C6 will cruise at 150 mph with a cup of coffee in the drink holder with gentle ripples in the coffee and not spill a drop. The C6 is a very sweet machine. Welcome and enjoy.

Thanks!!
CONGRATS! I just bought my 05' in Feb. Welcome to the club.
Congratulations on your new C6! The forum is a wonderful resource. For starters, keep hanging out here on the forum and checkout the C6 FAQ's page. Depending on your interests there are lots of ways to have fun with your car and learn in the process...local Corvette clubs, autocross events, car shows, drag racing, road racing or just cruising. Drive safe and enjoy!
Thanks for all the congrats everyone. They're much appreciated. There's definitely nothing like driving this car. Its unreal how amazing of a machine it is. This rattle is driving me absolutely bokners though so I've got to have someone get it up on a hoist and see what it is. I let my buddy drive the car and when I sat in the passenger seat I could feel whatever the rattle is really well on the bottom of my feet from the passenger side so I'm thinking its the exhaust. It does have a Borla exhaust so there's a chance there's something loose. With that said, this car is truly amazing.
Congratulations! It is a beautiful car! I purchased an 07 black on black coupe last month and I love it. What tires are on the car, the tread pattern doesn't look familiar?
