What does this list show? Have these been done or do they need to be done? I'm so confused.
I will see if the service description has an identifer or part number.

Interesting, our 2008 A6 never did that before the update Thursday. Now the selected gear is shown in both locations. I have not tried it with the NAV but will do so over the weekend.

Are you saying the gear selection is shown in both the DIC and HUD at the same time?

Lot of discussion about what is shown on the HUD and DIC. Anyone interested in the how the performance of the paddle shifters improved?

To the OP - Can you describe how the paddle shifters felt quicker and more crisp? I'm more interested in the performance increase over what is shown on the DIC.

If that's the case how do you get the normal DIC read outs?

On our 2009, I just hit the appropriate DIC button; the gear number disappears and is replaced by the DIC info.

Compared to our 2006, the paddle shifts seem to start a bit more quickly and be finished quicker, and firmer. That's just an impression, I didn't do any side-by-side comparisons and the 2006 has been sold.

The "blip for downshift" on the 2009 is worlds better than the "lurch for downshift" on the 2006.

......I'd like to know too. I have also asked several times if the "hold to go back into drive" feature is a software upgrade that can be installed on previous year C6's, and no one seems to know for sure.....I am on my way to the dealer for the shifting upgrade in this post just as soon as someone can confirm this with a bulletin number from GM.....

Damn, I spoke with my dealer about 2 weeks ago and asked if there were any new updates, and he said no. I printed this out and will definitely go back and let him show me with the tech-2 what updates I truly have.

The two dealers I have used told me that they up date by VIN # and even if a change for a different year, you won't get the download. Anotherwords, you buy a lemon, you still have a lemon because they don't have DL's for your year, at least it won't release improved updates to you. The last dealer really tried I think, I gave him copies of CF posts but they could not find them for my 2006 C6.

I have an appointment for tomorrow morning with Keth Overturf at Huffines in Plano. Will let you all know the results. I went to the site listed in this post and printed the result after entering my VIN.

I'm really hoping there is truly an update for my 08.

with the update you only see the Gear in the DIC if you have nav correct? because I have HUD on my 08 but no nav and for the last two weeks the car has been at the dealer getting the Transmission fixed for that Lag between 2nd and 3rd.... there is a TSB out on it. The dealer repaired the tranny. GM called for the replacment of some inner rings and a pump of some kind... Now the car drives GREAT!!!!!! no more lag or hunting for a gear as i come around a corner. I also found that the paddle shifter work 100% better, faster crisper and on DS it is a lot smoother... but I dont see any gear indicted in the DIC when in S mode... and it updated as part of the repair...

just wondering...

It's possible (probable) the DIC display is due to a cluster software update.

If you say that the DIC can show the gear but only when NAV is on the HUD then the Vehicle Bus is sending a message out that the cluster reads and then displays info based on. The change to HOW this info is displayed would be controlled in the cluster not the transmission (if the transmission had NOT been sending this info out then it would be an update to both).
