I have an appointment for tomorrow morning with Keth Overturf at Huffines in Plano. Will let you all know the results. I went to the site listed in this post and printed the result after entering my VIN.
I'm really hoping there is truly an update for my 08.
I am really interested in what your results are and, what it costs. I was at Corvettes of Dallas today talking about this and they weren't aware of any great improvements in the lackluster shifting.
with the update you only see the Gear in the DIC if you have nav correct? because I have HUD on my 08 but no nav and for the last two weeks the car has been at the dealer getting the Transmission fixed for that Lag between 2nd and 3rd.... there is a TSB out on it. The dealer repaired the tranny. GM called for the replacment of some inner rings and a pump of some kind... Now the car drives GREAT!!!!!! no more lag or hunting for a gear as i come around a corner. I also found that the paddle shifter work 100% better, faster crisper and on DS it is a lot smoother... but I dont see any gear indicted in the DIC when in S mode... and it updated as part of the repair...
just wondering...
How did you get this fix? I thought it was for 2006 or 2007 with P1751 code? My dealer said 2008 already had that fix in place so I could't get it?
Well I just got back from the dealer. Unfortunate for me, the update listed in that website was already in my car...all of them pertaining to the transmission. It calls for part number 24245876 "new calibration to improve torque management", already present.
So that says a few things....
1- the news on this update may be a bit old since I already had this in there
and
2 - the update itself was not very good since I still have the same old issues with hesitatiion, sloppy shifts, etc. If that's what they call "improved" they obviously.....SUCK at programming.

what a letdown.
Maybe the items called out on that list are items already applied to your vehicle. That is to say, maybe it's a record of updates that have been applied rather than a list of updates available to be applied. A history of what's been done to your car.

Very possible, but Keth assured me that there are NO further updates for my vehicle.
So my only alternative is to continue begging Chuck Cow to come to Dallas.

, that is the way I understand it, a HISTORY! I was curious about that trans up date # and it is not listed on my car (2006 A6). My understanding from two dealers that the updates are controlled by the VIN #, which gives the year, and the updates only apply to YOUR year and the improved updates do NOT apply to other years, only the years that is covered by the VIN #. It sucks, I agree!

Chuck - you listening?:
Chuck Cow is coming to Houston in Feb. I'm from Austin and I am going to make the drive to get the '08 tranny update and tweak my previous Cow tune. If I can drive to Houston from Austin you surely can drive from Dallas. The distance is nothing compared to the benefit you will get from Chuck.

If your car is under warranty, GM will turn you down on warranty, a friend of mine just went through that on valve spring breaking with a tune, GM WOULD NOT TOUCH IT, PERIOD. NOT EVEN LOOK AT IT UNDER WARRANTY, YOU PAY TO PLAY.

Yup! listening!
Right now, HOUSTON/PASADENA @ VARARAM for February some time... ABILENE is looking good and DALLAS is right between them!!!
If anyone is interested, MAKE SOME NOISE in your area! That's the best way for me to be able to do all three!
First off... I'll look into it, but like I stated in the other thread...NOBODY has tuned more A6 cars than me and I've NEVER seen/noticed a different version of software in the A6 trans.
I'm thinking the earlier guy was correct in that it's more likely that someone updated your IPC or BCM or something like that....
It's not making sense to me that a TCM tune would change the display on the DIC....
Again, I'll have a look but the OP in this thread should try to get any documentation he can regarding what they did...or, better yet....Get me your VIN# and I'll try to figure it out for you guys.

Count me as number one for Dallas. I'll even offer up my garage if you need a place to do it, but I'm sure there are better places. I'd love to see my neighbors faces with 15 Vettes parked outside.
software update for 2009 paddle to hold back into drive

I have a 2009 Coupe Auto 3LT and would pay GM to make my paddles work like 2010 Auto. GM Tech Center, Corvette Vehicle Line Executive, are you listening?
