I just got back from the tire shop and had all 4 wheel checked out the their Hunter Road Force GSP9700 machine. This machine is fantastic. They said my wheel balance was off just a bit but the cause of my problem is the wheels are not concentric to the rotor and I need centering rings. I got my Z06 repos from WWC , I’ll call them when they open and see if I can get some rings.

I may be mistaken but it looks to be true to me.
Your right, I pulled the wheels and measured the hub and inside of the rim, less the 1mm difference between the two. No way whatever you call them would fit.

Did the rebalance your wheels or are you just going to try the rings?
The shop was wrong, no way rings would fit. This was the third time they were balanced. I put the OEM rims back on and no problems. I started putting the repos on one at a time, doing a road test each time and found the RF tire to be the problem. Just have to figure out if it's the rim or tire!

Youre gonna make me go crazy now... Im gonna do the same with my front tires... See which one is the problem.
I just had 4 Hankook Ventus Evo V12s installed and had a 70mph and above vibration/shimmy with the front tires.
With only 275 miles on them returned to tire shop and balance was still good but you could clearly see both tires were out of round when spinning on the balancer. One was very obvious the other not as much.
They told me to call Discount Tire while at the shop and request 2 new replacements.
Customer service was very helpful sent them out 2nd Day Air UPS and should be at the shop tomorrow. They also stated they would reimburse me the cost to mount and rebalance the tires at the shop.
Hopefully the replacements will cure my problem.
The 2 replacement front tires were mounted today and my problems have been solved.
I sold my polished gumbys and the buyer picked them up the same afternoon I had the 4 new tires mounted so I did not have the option of putting the old ones back on to help determine which wheel(s) were causing the vibration.
The new tires were mounted on a used set of oem 5 spoke competion grey wheels purchased from a fellow CF member. If I purchase another used set of rims I'll have the tire shop spin them on the balancer before they mount the tires. Then if I have a vibration I'll be able to rule out the wheels as the cause of the problem.
Sent an email of my receipt for the mount/balance of new wheels to Discount Tire this afternoon and they already processed a credit to my credit card. They also shipped the replacements no charge and supplied return shipping lables for the defective tires.
This was my 1st Discount Tire purchase. I would have preferred 4 good tires right from the start but I am extremely happy how they handled the problem.
The shop uses a Hunter DSP9200 btw.

Spoke to a Body shop (of all places) who has a hunter machine yesterday. Explained my story and that the wheels were calling for .012OZ each. he said that is crap, So I am taking the wheels to him today and see what he can accomplish.

Yes, I've heard from friends that they are very good to work with, esp. when problems arise.

we shall see.
Hope it works out, keep us posted on your progress. I'm going back to the tire shop this afternoon.
OK I misunderstood the last guy about the weight calling... .012 was not the weight it was calling for it is the roundness gauge from road-force. 0=perfect all they way to 28 as acceptable.
Mine were all between 10-12 not perfect but not bad either.
We put the wheels on the machine and found 1 front and 1 rear to be out by .5 oz. He added the weights for me and told me to try it out.
He didnt charge me either, this guy was awesome. I will put the wheels on tonight and try it out tomorrow.

I just got back from the tire shop, they also checked the Road Force on my tires. Three had 6, the RF had 28. Re-adjusted the tire and no more problem.
