Most scanners have the capability to reset a CEL. If you don't have one, or have a friend that does, you may be able to have someone at AutoZone reset it for you with their scanner. But note that some AutoZone's stick to their policy of not resetting CEL's.
One trick that works for me is to disconnect the negative side of the battery for 30 seconds. I never had a problem with my 08 Vert but I did with a 03 Silverado with 240,000 miles. The Oxygen sensor was bad and I felt no need to replace it. Anyway, every 4 or 5 days I had to disconnect the battery to get it to go away. They only pain was I had to also re-set the clock. ...With the Vette, I imagine you also have to re-index the windows. Good Luck
Depending on what conditions set it, it may automatically go away after a certain number of restarts, but more than likely you will need to have it reset using a scan tool. If it were me, I'd want to know what it's complaining about - go to one of the auto parts stores and see if they can read the code for you....and maybe have them reset it.
I did this last week, it's the easiest way to clear the light.
Go to the fuse box under the passenger floor board and pull the ECM fuse (check your owners manual for diagram) for a few minutes then reinstall and start your car. Light should be off.
Thanks for all of your input. I will have it checked with a scanner. I had just finished installing a new and improved exhaust controller when this occured. I disconnected the controller after the light came on but the CEL is still on. However, I didn't drive the car after that to see if it would go out.

EXCELLENT SUGGESTION WORKED GREAT! Leave the fuse pulled for about 10-15 minutes.

There is a problem, pull the code.
Disconnecting battery just eliminates te SES light. It will return.
The exhaust controller is a problem.
Not sure how you're pulling power or from where but I'm betting it's the problem.
Does anybody know the procedure for restting the Check Engine Light?
Thanks,
Vinny
Finding the cause of the check engine light is usually the best course of action for resetting it. You will need to pull the codes with an OBDII code reader. One of the most common causes is a gas cap that was not properly seated after filling up for example. Once it is reseated and the car passes several ignition cycles it will turn out the light. Resetting the light without finding the cause of the problem will only result in the light coming back on.
