Default Traction Control Use

OK, may seem like a dumb question, but when exactly would you turn off the Traction Control? I have a 08 auto and the only time I have turned it off was when I wanted to spin the tires to show my buddies I could . So except for showing off, when exactly would you want to turn off the Traction Control option?

I turn mine off as soon as I start the car everytime. The AH/TC intervenes way to fast, especially since the car is modded. On track, it is always all the way off.

Bad Idea. IMO the AH is a good nanny. The TC on the other hand can be a pest. C mode is the best. I always put it in C mode on start up.
C mode will leave the AH on and TC off. I am Not talking about tracking or wet driving here guys.

TC off at dragstrip with AH on. For street, everything on at all times. For autox, everything off.

I prefer the way the car handles in "c" mode as well. There have been occassions with traction control on, when making a quick turn, that the traction control activated and initiated braking in a turn, rather unpredictably to me, and made the car difficult to handle.

Turn off Competitive Mode button
Put left foot on Brake - Hold down very hard
Put right foot on accelerator - push all the way down
Great mosqito control at outdoor parties
also shows what a bad *** muscle car the vette can be - when prompted.

last - dont show the kids

I never turn mine off. I'm sure that's why my back Z51 tires are still going strong after 23,000 miles.

I prefer the competetive mode. Like the handling better than any other mode IMO.

Any time I go WOT I shutoff TC. I don't want the system fighting my efforts to accelerate. If I need to feather the throttle I will. On a road course I generally use comp mode and occasionally no nannies at all.

Most Corvettes that crash on the public roadways have had the active handling turned off. Hmmmm.
