Ya, under warranty and in the shop today.........was looking for some input on how complex / how much can the mechanic mess up doing it.
They just put a new crank pulley on about 2 weeks ago and that went fine.
Can anyone post information like was posted on the crank pulley procedure?
Thks
just looked at mine, so i can give you a quick overview.
Drain coolant, remove upper and lower hoses from pump, remove 4-10mm bolts from pump assembly (I ca nonly see 4 there may be one hiding), pump falls off, clean up engine where water pump sat, put in new T-stat on new pump, reinstall in reverse order. Really simple job, cant take more then an hour to do, most of which will be filling the tank
This is how i fill cars up that dont have a radiator tank fill (remote tank filler). Fill coolant and while your doing that burp the upper hose to help fluid move which helps t-stat open, get engine warm while filling until the t-stat opens, let sit for 15 20 minutes, fill coolant tank again. This will usually get all the air out.

So putting in a new water pump on C-6 is quite different than a muscle car, pony car like Mustang etc. Alot easier and less expensive on other American performance cars?
Corvette will require more skillful mechanic because of limited space?
