Default 2LT vs 3LT

A friend of mind is looking at new 2009 Corvette Convertible. Both cars have the same options except for one being a 2LT and other a 3LT The 2LT is his #1 Color Choice the 3LT is his next favorite color. His price difference for the 2 deals is $ 3800 which is also a factor. Heads up and the 6 disk changer are the things he likes. He is leaning towards to 2LT but is worried about resale. I told him even though it may be worth less don't worry about that because they all take a hit and get the car you want. Thoughts anyone

We got the 3LT as we wanted all the options with it, he needs to get the one he wants as on resale they will all go for about the same

Get the one he wants and do not worry about the difference in resale as it will be small if anything.

The heads up was a make or brake factor when i was buying.

Personally I dont think I could drive without it. ha The convince of having your speed in your peripheral at all time keeps me in check.

If he's going to have more than 1 driver, he really should get the memory option, which requires and comes with the 3LT option package. Head up display is great if you've gotten used to it, but some might not miss it.

Love the HUD, heated seats and memory functions. I think the 3LT package is good bang for the buck.

...The HUD is important to me as well. You did not fill out where you live, but if there are cool Fall and Spring days there, he will LOVE the heated seats -- especially with the roof off!
Even summer evening drives with the roof off --- stars over your head, your buns nice and toasty warm = can't be beat!

In a convertible, the heated seats are really nice. And the HUD is a dealbreaker for me. I just love it.

I thought along the same lines back in May, and came to the conclusion that at this price point, if I was worried about $3800 and resale value, I probably should be looking at something less expensive to begin with. I ended up with the 3LT, and would not want to do without the niceties the package provides.

I would keep searching. Find the color you like along with a 3LT option group at the price you can afford.

According to Jeff Hardy's search, there are still 392 2009 convertibles left of which 268 are 3LT cars.

There are still 88 2008 convertibles left of which 41 are 3LT option group cars.

Just bought a new base 09 vert last week and it far exceeds my expectations. Having never had HUD I don't miss it, and if I need a bun warmer I'll drive the Lexus

I had to have the 3LT option. Only your friend can decide if the options, cost, or color are most important to him. I wouldn't worry about resale, the difference will be immaterial.

Hard to go wrong either way.

I just bought a used Vette a few months ago, I would not look at Vettes that didn't have hud no matter how good a deal it was. You pay once, but live with the features on a daily basis.

I chose the 2LT and have zero regrets. The addiitonal cost for the 3LT didn't really matter to me - there was just nothing in the 3LT I wanted which wasn't in the 2LT. So like others have said - just figure out what you want and buy it.
