Yesterday I spent the day at a Corvette racing school. It was my first time on a track, but not my first time driving real fast. The school is run by a guy named Henry. I got to drive a C6 and had lots of seat time with a pretty good instructor. The track was Miami Homestead. It was a great experience and I didn't mind driving their car rather than my new Vette. I learned a lot about controlling a C6 at high speed on a road racing track. The cars are real well-maintained and there were a lot of more advanced drivers with C6s and Z06s.

By the way, when I left the track, my son said, "Dad, you're doing 90 in a 35. It was real hard to slow down.
Congratulations on the driving school but I'd watch the speed on the streets...especially with your son in the car. I think if you get into the sport you'll find the time spent on the race track reduces your need for speed on the street. At least it does for me. Next time, try using your car on the track. IMO it's better to drive your own car. Good luck!
I got a Richard Petty Driving Experience at any NASCAR track for $400 bucks... even with upgrading to an all day 80 laps, its still less than $1500 bucks....
Tell me more about this class... how long is the class, how many laps per se, and what's involved?

That's why the word "experience" is in the title.
Most schools last all day and give you enough seat time to obtain some skills.

You get what you pay for. I don't know anything about the Petty Driving Experience. I'm sure it's great. All I do know is that the school I went to at Homestead is intended for people interested in racing Corvettes. I was on the track for a total of 2.5 hours. The track we used was a roadrace track with 14 turns, not an oval. I think it was well worth the money.
I've been going to Drivers Edge events this last year in Texas. Two days two hours a day on Texas World Speedway ,a 2.9 mile 14 turn track inside a high bank oval.Drive your own car 295.00 for the weekend.
The school srqvelocity yellow is speaking of is hookedondriving.com Henry is the owner, and you get great teaching and lots of track time at $300 per day.Thats with your own car.....and Homestead Motorsports park is awsome .
Congratulations! Taking a car to the track is just nigh to a spiritual experience. Hopefully not an out of body experience. I have found that if you can support a club event, the cost is dramatically reduced because it is a not for profit event. Enjoy!!!

Yea and No! If it's your first time with high performance driving it's not all together a bad thing using someone else's equipment... Just in case of.... errrrrrrrrrrrr. well you get the idea!
