Default PAL Help

Sorry for but from what can I gather from the forum posts, PAL should be compatible with my C6 (09 with Nav and XM), but the dealer tells me that the PAL is only compatible with certain systems and mine is not one. I don't understand, the only item not on my system is multi disc unit.

Don't want to renew my XM and would love to interface my iPod. Any suggestions are welcome.

PAL will work.

I have the lockpick on my 09 and I'm not especially happy with the user interface.

I am considering upgrading to the PAL interface.

It'll work perfect. Order the PAL, and order a custom harness here: http://www.kawal.net/PAL%20install.htm#Alternative%205

This allows you to plug the PAL into your XM receiver. Takes 5 minutes, easy as pie, and you're good to go!

dealer is full of bs, also you dont have to subscribe to xm, just have the unit in your car since that's how the pal interfaces to the rest of the system.

At the top of the C6 General Discussion page are the "stickies". One of them has all of the Frequently Asked Questions about the PAL. Here is the link:

http://www.kawal.net/PALFAQs.htm

If you have Nav and XM in your C6, the PAL will work fine, but I'd suggest you read all of the questions and answers on that page. There will be installation issues you'll want to consider, which are also covered in the answers.

Hope that helps,

Ray

Jeff,

You will definitely like the PAL as an upgrade to the Lockpick. You'll be going from the bottom of the line right to the top.

Back in April, I was able to get my hands on all of the available Ipod adapters for the C6 Vette. Here is the complete review:

http://www.kawal.net/ipod.htm

You'll see the PAL comes out on top.

PAL works great in my 06 with XM and Nav. Used the Kawal adapter - that thing is great!!!

As noted, find a new dealer.

The PAL was designed from the ground up with the 2009 car with navigation installed. You do not need to be subscribed to XM.

It will work perfectly with your car. Based on your setup, you should be able to do the install yourself without a dealers intervention and it will work just fine.

Ray has pretty much simplified the install for you folks and as long as you have NAV you're good to go, either way.

Feel free to order from GM Parts House. Go to www.gmpartshouse.com/search.html and use part number 17800593 and be sure to select Chevrolet make.

Thanks, Gene.
