I normally stock up when Pep Boys has a 2 for 1 sale. Use it in my Z06 and my DD(supercharged). Every 3,000 or so miles.

It's been a while since I purchased it so I can't recall what the price was. It was definitely cheaper than the auto parts stores. About 6 months back they sent us a coupon book which gave a couple more dollars off their regular price. I need to get back over there and score another 6 pack.

A more professional way to keep injectors clean is to run a straight solvent through them with the fuel pump disabled.
I found a hose kit like this http://www.tooltopia.com/lisle-56090...googlebase_18u somewhere for about 30 bucks.
The Borg Warner solvent at O'Rielly is 9 bucks..just pull the fuel pump fuse and it runs for about 5 minutes. Works great.

I wouldn't recommend that unless you have money to burn. The techron that is relabeled for GM is $25 a bottle. The Techron brand is $10. If anyone doubts they are not identical, just look at the bottom of the GM bottle. The Techron patent number, and Chevron symbol are molded into the bottle.

Our Costco Wholesale in Alpharetta, Georgia has been carrying the Techron stuff. Six bottles to a box. I didn't realize it was the same as the GM stuff.

We went to Costco today and sure enough they still carry it. Scored a six pack for $14.99. That's only $2.50 a bottle. They're 16 oz. bottles.

MaybeGM is trying to use th Hewlett/Packard business plan? HP sells printers at a loss but makes BIG dollars on ink cartridges. GM sells the cars at a discount and makes big dollars on fluids?

The stuff I buy from COSTCO now days is labeled as "Fuel Injector Cleaner" vs. what they used to sell several years ago which was labeled as Chevron Techron. I'm not currently at home and have not read the specifics of the contents of the current FIC COSTCO is selling from Chevron to determine if this product is actually the Techron fuel additive? I was under the impression it is not the same but don't know for sure.

I will avoid the obvious aggie joke ....... as for the OP's question, use of a gasoline such as Chevron with Techron is recommended by GM and is a good practice to help add years of trouble free driving. ran Exxon when I first got my car and after 7 CEL's, switched to Chevron per BG's suggestion and have not had a warning light now for 2 years and 18k miles!
