Default DD 2005 50k+ miles.

My limitations: (a) must have some kind of road under and ahead of me (b) must have a credit card in wallet (c) must be sober, dressed and awake. Other than that it stays in the garage! Drive it as much as you can before you die. What a car! What a country!

My boundary is the coast - be it the East coast, West coast or Gulf coast. No particular boundary to the North either, but it has not been into Canada yet. I will not take it into Mexico.

David, David, David....you should have known that you'd get beaten up with this post!!! Actually, everyone has been very kind to you.

For everyone else, I've known Dave for a long time so I know he never drives it far...and never on the highway!!! He knows how I feel about not driving the Corvette everywhere!!! He loves his Corvette but is paranoid about where he takes it.

Drove to Charleston,SC on our honeymoon in June. Going to Kiawah Island next Thurs. but will probably take my G8GT in case weather turns ugly on the return in the mountains. Getting ready to put it to bed with 17K on it. A friend has an '07 with 3500mi on it and I'm always yanking his chain good naturedly about that. Life is short and I don't want the next guy to enjoy my coupe more than I am.

The only place I will not drive it is in NYC. Other than that I even drive it in the rain. Its a car after all and soap and water does wonders.

Drove my previous C6 as far west as Colorado and east to Georgia and Tennessee on several occasions. Such a great touring car! Will be driving the new one even further!

1600 miles one way, MI to TX then back for vacation. Drove through hurricane Ike, lots of rain. So, I guess no limits. Enjoy the ride.

Last year when I bought my low mileage C5, we put an extra 8,000 the first summer .... did a 3,800 mile trip to the SW states and back home on Rt. 66 (9 day trip). The only things that limit my mileage is time & $$$$ for gas ...... love driving these cars. Even put about 1,000 miles on my C3 also.

I have taken my C5 on 3 trips to the West coast, generally about 4500 to 5000 miles per trip. We have done them all with the top down except for maybe a total of 300 miles. That doesn't mean it didn't rain a bit, but when its raining, and you can maintain speed, you can roll up the side windows, and leave the top down.

We did all of them on two lane roads and avoided the interstates as much as possible. I did take the interstate between St.louis and Kansas City, as I've seen most of the Missouri roads.

I have a 2010 vert on order with a December TPW. This spring my wife and I are planning to take it on a trip to visit my daughter in Seattle,by way of southern Colorado,Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington. On the return we will drive down the Coast Highway (we have done that before, also have done the "center of the state" run from Seattle to Southern California) to Stockton, then through Yosemite through central Nevada, then southern Utah, Colorado, Kansas, and won't hit an interstate from Stockton CA, until central Missouri.

I love to drive the vette!!!!

First 24 hours - 920 miles coming back from picking it up in Bowling Green. Several 1000+ mile trips in first year (16K total). Great car on a long trip plus daily driver (38 miles per day).

Limit? Statistically most driving is done within 15 miles of home. That is natural. Why limit your driving? Do you think the C6 will be worth something someday? Heck if we are not careful we will be limited to how many miles we can drive any car. I drive mine everywhere I normally go, probably most of the time 35 to 50 miles out in one direction. I have taken a few good long road trips (2000 plus miles) and plan to continue to do so as long as I can get in and out!!

Just came back from 90 mile drive (each way) yo CT. and it runs great.
Seems like it takes about 15 miles or more just to get to running temp!

My C6 is a dd, so I drive it to where ever I need to go. Last weekend I drove it from San Diego to North Los Angeles which is about 150 miles. So I drove it about 300 miles last weekend. Why would you enforce a limit on how far you can drive your vette?

I've been all over the planet in my C6, intense mountain ranges, extreme heat, extreme cold, snow / slush, plenty of rain etc, etc, etc, but I will never take the car into or near NYC... it's never been there and will never go there... under any circumstances... period.

I subscribe to that idea 100%. Back in the day when I had a couple of C1s, I drove everywhere -- including coast to coast. Now, I have LBCs (little British cars) which I drive only on small trips and back roads. When I am going somewhere seriously, it is the C6 all the way.
