Anyone else guilty? On occasion I have to drive my wife's Chrysler van and since Im used to waving at every Vette I pass, I have waved while in her car. I don't know what the Vette driver thinks. So, if you see a minivan driver wave when driving around Phoenix, it's me.
In the area I live in which I'd classify as rural I get about 20% of the waves from non Corvette vehicles. Not a lot of Vette's around here except the cruisers who do road trips from the SEA area through this picturesque area I live in during the summer months. Then there are Porches groups, Ferrari groups etc. every weekend is different if you can move amongst all the Harley's in the summer. I try to hook up with the Corvette groups or clubs when they come through. Hooked up with two such groups this summer and had a blast with the 15-20 Vette owners with each group. Great bunch of folks. My stock 2009 was limping along with all the tuned and tweaked Vettes for the most part.
Funny this post came up today:
Today on the way back from Cache Creek Casino in Brooks CA, I waived at a GMC Sierra. He waived back. He was towing a C3 Stingray.
By the way today was perfect score: 7 wave back off 6 + 1 Vettes.
If I'm not in the Corvette I'll occasionally give a thumbs-up to another Corvette but I don't wave. IMO there's just no 'connection' to The Wave if you're not in your Corvette.
Yup I do it all the time when i'm not in the Vette, Yeah you kinda feel a little foolish but so what, Whats wrong with a friendly wave to anybody??? It cant hurt !!
