With that said, best of luck to the OP, just be responsible and enjoy your ride.

You will probably be like most teenage boys and do some of those same stupid things. I hope you are as lucky as I was. Please, if you are going to race, do it at the track.
I wish you well and enjoy your car. May you live to see at least age 59..
I'm personally against kids your age having HP cars because of the carnage I've seen in my job. That's not to say EVERY kid is going turn it into a horror show either. Simply because most here are older doesn't mean we know everything, but we usually know more from the school of hard knocks.
Enjoy the car and make your parents proud of how you handle yourself. It can be done if you work at it.. not easy.. but it can be done. Be safe out there and take care. Good luck with the vette. Treat it and yourself with respect and you'll do just fine....
I'll also say don't let your desire to earn respect or 'fit-in' keep you from expressing your honest opinions whether they be positive or negative. Naturally, always express yourself in a mature and diplomatic manner. Respect those with more experience and learn from them but you don't always have to agree with them. With age comes a certain level of maturity and it sounds like you're learning just fine!

The same thing happened to me with my first car, but it was a 383 equipped Dodge Charger, returned for a VW Beetle.
Treat the C6 with the respect it deserves and hopefully the mistakes you're likely to make, and we all have made them when we were your age, won't have grave consequences.
No apologies necessary.
Be safe.
A) It's not your fault they provide for you above and beyond what they should, but enjoy it and appreciate it!
B)Pay them back when you can with whatever it is they may want/need! Doesn't have to be material...maybe do something around the house they would nvr expect you to do!!!
I also wonder what the ensuing years until i was able to purchase one on my own would have been like.
It felt good to have something to lust after and strive for.
It felt good to work my way up through faster and faster cars, gaining skill and experience.
And it felt amazing to finally do it...to sit in my own, brand new corvette that I bought with my own money and drive it away from the dealership.
If you start right off with one of the world's great performance cars, seems like you're going to have a tough time getting to the next level...but then it sounds like you are starting off in a different world than I was, and maybe money will simply never be a restriction when it comes to getting the car you want.
I hope you enjoy the car, that you stay safe in it, that you realize how fortunate you are to have it, and that you work hard in school and get a great job - cuz taking that next step to a higher performance car is going to cost you a ****load!
I found maturity came with age and realization of how expensive it is to speed around everywhere (oh the tickets ha).
Cruizin can be fun too. ha

Something you'll gain from just about anybody older than you. Enjoy your Vette and lets start seeing some mods in those post.
