Well this is a controversial topic, there are arguments as to why it is weaker (ls9 is based on ls3 and not ls7), walls are thinner to allow larger heads, however doing some more research I came to realize that the Ls7 is about as strong as the ls3. I guess it comes down to this. If you mess up the ls3, its 6k to replace it. Ls7 is more like $14k. So the ls3 is more forgiving on check book
