I have an 05, and come spring I'll be changing the coolant. So I was wondering if anybody did it themselves or did they go to the dealer? Any problems or tips I should know? Done a little research on this, but I figured this is the place for the best answers.
I did mine when I changed my t-stat to 160 deg. model.
The drain is on the bottom of the rad. on the pass. side. Just give her a twist. If you want to drain the block, you may want to just loosen the 2 screws that hold the therm. in place and it will all rush out.
Filling was the diff. part for me. There is no rad. fill, just the overflow so, you fill it and it's tough with the air inside. It eventually filled but keep an eye on the temp. guage. You may have to do it a little at a time.
There were many suggestions on how to avoid this problem but I'm not that advanced. Just have patience and it will go fine.
I used the recommended Dexcool Prestone full strength (not the 50/50 mix) and it used 1 gal. exactly and one gallon of distilled water.
manual says 5 year or 150,000 miles or so, whatever come first. I have 11,030 miles on it. Build date 12/04. So I figured come spring better change it.
That's low mileage, I'm jealous. Do a search for the thread with step by step instructions with pics. I tried to find it for you but couldn't. That's what I used and it made it simple. This forum is the BEST!!!

I have an 05 and changed mine last spring. Very easy to do, just takes time. I premixed Dexcool with distilled water in a pitcher 50/50 and then poured slowly when filling. I drained and refilled four times. Not sure if this is needed, but wanted to get as much of the old coolant out as possible.
When changing the Dexcool make sure you capture the old stuff and dispose of it properly. Don't let it run down the driveway into the street. Due to it's sweet taste, dogs, cats, birds suck it up and die a painful horrible death.
