Acquired a 2007 corvette a month ago. I read somewhere that you get one or two free nav disk updates. If the disk that is currently running in the car is the first one, how do I go about getting the update? Thanks!

the original owner gets a postcard good for a new update. I think you and me are out of luck... I am looking for a updated disc too.
If the guy in FS section sells me his I will sell you mine ver 4.0
07 owners have until Dec 31 to get the free disc update. Call GM disc Center at 877-628-3472. Be sure and have your VIN handy. I called last week and my disc should be in this week. From what I understand this offer is no longer good for 06 and down or for 08, but you might want to check just in case.

Received mine a few weeks ago. The Nav updates are tied to the VIN and not the original owner. Just give them a call and they will take care of everything for you.

Just a thought. If this thread was made a "sticky", it might help 07 owners get their free disc before time runs out. I'm sure a number of people could benefit from this information. I will report more when my disc comes in (probably this week).
I called today, and after providing my VIN, and telling him I had a 2007version 3 disk, the technician said he would send me the most recent disk. Sounds great right? Well on the e-mail invoice it says they're sending me (free of charge) a NAV disk for a 2009 vette. Now I have a bad feeling, because everyone here talks about version numbers of model year disks - ie. 2007 ver5, 6, etc... I e-mailed them back right away asking if the one they're sending will work in my car. I'll let you know what they say...
Fingers crossed.

Any version will work in the earlier Nav units. My V6.0 works in my friends 2005 Vet.
Do they offer a disc for any region other than North America? (And can you switch to a different region as your free upgrade disc? I have an eligible 2007, and I'm about to call.)
Ideally, I want a Australia/NZ nav disc, but I wonder if they exist (can't find mention on the website). C6's aren't sold there, 'cos the steering wheel is on the wrong side, but OTOH, the nav system is used by cars other than corvette.

I called last week (1-877-nav-disc) to get my second free update because I received a postcard. They are currently shipping version 5.0. That is the same version they sent me last year for my first update. They said to call back in a few weeks because they are starting to see the newer version coming out for other cars. You've got until 12/31/09 to get your last update.

I have been round and round with the disk center on this. They finally told me my 2007 Vette's last free disk is the 2009 (version 5) disk. It didn't matter to them they had sent version 5 last year as my first free upgrade. I don't expect to ever see version 6 unless I buy it. What a crock.

What happens if I added the NAV after I bought the car 2007 C6 coupe can I still call and give them VIN and get my free update Nav disk. Will they say the VIN shows that it did not have the NAV originally and deny me?
Just got my free update in. It's version 5. I should be happy. It has to be better than version 3.
The map data is waaay out of date in some cases, we've got roads around here that were put in 5 years ago and still don't show up on the map.
But I'll be the disc has updated locations for Starbucks.

Looks like it's time for another class action suit if they don't change their minds in the next few weeks. And why would they bother sending out the postcard if they had no intention of delivering a second updated disc? Is Government Motors that incompetent? Oh, wait... What am I saying...

Yep, I got a reply back that the "2009" disk is the update for my 2007 version 3 disk. I can understand why folks would be pizzed if they already have the 2009 (ver5) disk, but for me, being the second owner, I'm pleased. Now then, do I really NEED the new disk? Not so much, but I just like to keep things as current as possible - especially if its free!
I was just told my vin # didn't show up on their list. I recently purchased a used 07 that has the V3.0 in the slot. Sounds like bs to me, if the PO already had the disk why wouldnt it be in the car. I wonder if I should wait a day and try to call again, maybe get another GM rep on the phone. Sounded to me like all she wanted to do was sell one to me.
