Great technique!

Fortunately we don't have to winterize except for about two weeks here.

With Wyoming plates I'm sure you know better and are just teasing the East Coast guys... However if you keep driving it, let me know how well the front clip works as a snowplow, mine's white to begin with and... Actually, no. Don't give me any ideas. It's hard enough to keep it in the garage.

I'm sorry to see that you did that....
You should ship it south and sell it before the cracks appear....

The owners guide clearly states that the C6 body was not desgined to withstand freezing temperatures. Body flex at low temperatures causes micro cracks in the SMC panels. Continued flexing propogates the cracks in this notch sensitive polymer. To counteract this GM uses a nanomolecular additive in the paint that prevents the paint from cracking and hides the SMC panel cracks.
The first thing to go is the roof. Failure generally means that it separates from the Vette. I'm sure you have seen all the posts.....

Actually, the roads I drove were clear except for a couple of short sections. I definitely would not drive on snow or ice-covered roads. Too dicey. Also, it's been several days since it snowed, so the gravel they put down has all migrated to the sides.

I plan on taking it out on days like this whenever I can instead of just letting it sit in the garage.

Raise ride height, swap to your snow wheels/tires, drive 365/24/7 in Michigan through ice, snow, slush.

Make sure to run it through the car wash on salty days!

Put the '08 Z06 away for the winter this weekend. Changed oil/filter, flush clutch fluid, stabil in the fresh tank of fuel, pump the tires to 35 PSI, park it in the garage on carpet pads to separate rubber from concrete, wash and wax, cover it up.

I don't like the idea of slowing cooking my battery, I pull the cover and charge the battery the first weekend of each month.

April 1st, weather permitting, she's back out on the road. Did the same thing with my '01 M6 Coupe for 7 winters, never had any problems.

It's going to be a long 4 1/2 months!!

And how is that any different than here in New Jersey? The whole country is broke and over taxed.

I swapped to my Pirelli snow tires about a month ago when the temps started hitting the 30's - they actually handle almost as well as my summer tires on warm days, but I can actually still drive on the really cold days with great traction. I'll let you all know how it goes once we get some snow this year (I've driven my C5 and C6 in snow on summer tires a few times - don't try it unless you like white knuckled driving). Hopefully I won't have to drive the beater for 5 months straight this year with the new snow tires

I'm guessing that was you I saw in Laramie back in May? I was filling up my cyber gray Z06 by the Burger King and got a wave from a cyber gray C6, can't be too many of those around there. I went to UW and was passing through visiting some friends.

You left out a step:

Repeat steps 1-3 as often as possible - like daily.

Would really like to hear some feedback on those winter tires. Most of our roads are covered with hard packed snow and ice from Nov till April and I would love to be able to drive my C6 during the winter.
