Red light camera detector
I use the Escort 9500ix

2. As for the Red light camera detector..... I guess you are totally missing the point. Running red lights is the best way to get you or someone else killed, but good luck on finding a system to warn you so you actually stop for the light for a few seconds and potentially save a life.

I bought the Cheetah (Google is your friend) unit, the little box instead of the miror system. It also warns of fixed speed cameras. Works very well mounted in my ash tray but I need to get the hardwire adapter.

mostly all of us have been driving and got caught midway in an intersection when the
light began to change. What is the tolerance of the cameras? If your rear end does not
completely clear the intersection when the light begans to change, will you still get
cited? Montgomery, Alabama has recently installed cameras all over the city and I am
on pins and needles when traveling there. I'm a very careful driver and try to obey all
traffic rules, but would still like to know where the cameras are.
Music, phone, red light camera detection, internet radio, GPS Nav, all in one with bluetooth connection to my factory stereo. I sit in the car and everything is there. Can't beat it.

Also, Escort makes a gps/redlight and speedtrap detector that runs in line with other radars, its about 160 bucks which is alot better than 400-500 for a new radar.
A GPS-based "reminder" system as described can at least give you a heads-up where you've programmed alerts.

not to mention that sometimes it might be safest to run a light that is just about to turn red (such as if a car is bearing down on you to make a light, it's raining, you can't stop in time, etc.). i never knowingly run red lights either. why is it so hard for people to understand that red light cameras are NOT about safety. i doubt many of the population run around buzzing through red lights for lack of care. it's usually accidental and the ticket is not a deterrent.

In our town, the cameras are positioned where people will be trapped - a right turn lane with the stop line too far from the intersection to see the oncoming traffic. You MUST roll forward to see, the camera snaps if you don't sit at the line for several seconds before moving forward. Meanwhile, 1/4 mile away is an intersection that has been the most dangerous for several years. Guess what, NO CAMERA.Their nonsense about safety is pure
When there are cameras, you have more rear end collisions. If you have longer yellow lights, there are less of all collisions.
And that's before you try to address "due process." When these first came out, the courts were log-jammed. The solution? Remove the points, just apply the fine. That got people to stop challenging them.
It's about making money, pure and simple. Google "red light cameras" and "Lockheed-Martin" and you'll see a history of deceit and governments in on it. Increasing yellow light times solves the problem better.
If they really, really, really want camera, then install them and increase yellow light times. But they not only never do that, but Lockheed-Martin has been repeatedly caught "red handed" reducing the times.
This isn't about safety. Otherwise they'd always increase the yellow light times with the cameras. Truth.
