Default DIC Message??

I've only had my C6 for 7 weeks and got it out tonight for the first time in 8 days. The outside temp was pretty cold (about 30). After driving the car about a block a message of the DIC said "Ice Possible". Are these cars now giving weather forcasts? Is this a normal message in cold weather?

You'll get that message any time the outside temperature sensor shows a temperature of 32° or less.

Don't think too many owners in sunny Southern California will be seeing this message.

Thanks for the info. It gets pretty cold here (mid teens last night) but I don't usually drive my car when it's this cold. Bet the folks in Florida don't see the message very often.

Ain't it the truth? Are there any surf advisories??

Actually, the mountains in eastern San Diego County are frequently covered in snow, and temps go down to single digits.

It would be really handy if someone wrote a manual for these cars. Oh, wait, GM already did and included one in every car.

ICE POSSIBLE
This message displays when the outside air temperature is cold enough to create icy road conditions. Adjust your driving accordingly.

Yes, the manual is a good read but look at all the topics that would never be discussed. I've actually read the manual, but at 488 pages some things I don't remember.

btw, I'm still reading the manual to find the chicklet information. What page was that on again?
