We're in Atlanta area. When I get home, I'll dig up the paperwork.
Our Ho has the rain sensing windshield wipers. That wouldn't do it, would it ?
Should not do it. My wife's car has that as well and it has never set off the V1. Cars that have adaptive cruise control can cause it to occur, but that is usually other cars and not your own. Issues like that tend to set off laser though which is not as you described.

S - good point. I meant to ask about adaptive cruise control - wonder if there are so many on the road now, that that could be the problem....
Since I have some small knowledge of how LE uses radar I'd say the BEST protection is don't speed. The 2nd best is knowing the "DIRECTION" where the signal is coming from....

That's very unlikely. The only lidar 'falses' I get are from a limited number of Infinity models. They really aren't falses either, because Infinity uses the same frequency as lidar, so there's no way for a detector of any brand to tell the difference.
Mercedes, BMW and others use a radar signal beyond the spectrum of police radar, so they don't cause alarms at all.

Your unit is toast, there's no denying the fact.
Thanks. I'll be giving the manuf a call when I get home.
$400 my a$$!!! never. I have an Earlywarning I paid 49 bucks for a few years ago and works just as good as the 400 dollar jobs, has 360 degree laser, etc, etc,etc.. even has radar detector detector, safety warning detection and anti falsing circuitry.
OK, flame suit on.

I hope your not serious. The difference between a $50 and a $400 radar detector has been proven over and over in tests and is a well known fact.
You need to borrow someone's V1 or 9500i for a week and see how you feel about your old one.

I am serious. This thing has saved me a few times. its spot on. and if and when it breaks, I refuse to spend 400 bucks on a radar detector when I can get one thats just as good for a lot less. I will not spend that kind of $$ on a brand name.
I'll tell you what, we'll swap each others for a week, Huh??? I guarantee you won't be disappointed in fact you'll be surprised how good it works.
It seems that if the detector is exposed to direct sun a lot, it can ultimately damage the electronics.
Yep I think that's it, otherwise there are some signals coming from all the electronics in the Vette that is causing all the false alarms. I went thru 2 cobras and a whistler, all did the same thing. Constant KA alerts, and I mean constant.
So I finally bit the bullet and got an Escort 9500IX. All is well, it's perfect, no false alarms....yet. Wait till the Texas sun beats down on it next summer.
I've had the Beltronics for... maybe 5 years. Still works great. With a little common sense and the sentry in place I've not had a ticket in many, many years - this from a guy with a driving record 4 pages long (youthful indicresion).
I have their laser jammer too. Worked great when I had it installed a few years ago. Neat to see cops stopping to take a closer look at their laser gun as I drive by.
So, to your question - just give 'em a call. You never know what you might get - a quote for a $300 repair job or a free radar detector - or something in between.
I must agree with ED from Pa. Don't speed. On long trips, I used to drive faster than I should have. 10 to 15 over. I wised up a number of years ago and set the cruise control at 5 or 7 over. In Colorado our speed limit is 75 in most areas, so I drive between 75 and 80. Fast enough and NO PROBLEM. Now I am relaxed. I don't have to keep looking in my mirror or looking at every car coming towards me. NO PROBLEM. Very relaxed and I arrive very near the time I used to when I drove faster. Do yourself a favor. Leave 30 minutes or so earlier than normal and follow my advise and set the cruise control. NO PROBLEM. Everybody have a safe drive and a Merry Christmas.

I agree with this. Besides as Speed mentioned, his issue is on the radar bands and not laser. I've definitely had laser go off on non-police sources, but its rare and when it does happen it certainly doesn't occur constantly down the freeway.
On a separate but related note, I often wonder why every topic on radar always contains posts by those with the "don't speed" message even though it isn't related to the question being asked by the tread. It almost seems like it is a moral imperative for those just having to get this message out. I am not personally bothered by it, but have now just become somewhat amused at the predictability over the years.
Anyway, good luck Speed, drive safe (at any speed), and let us know what the manufacturer tells you.

Because you asked: Some would see this as similar to asking ' what ski mask is best for robbing banks' or 'what bullet is best for defeating police body armor'.
Until you have had the personal pleasure of picking up body parts and figuring out what bag they belong in, please save your 'moral imperatives'.
As far as driving safe at 'any speed', my family and loved ones also share the roads with you and I would prefer if they were not injured or killed because you could not save it for the track. Thanks
