I had a problem with the F1 supercar tires, called Goodyear,so gy sent me to a authorized run flat specialist for further review,so here goes the wtf of the day.....Upon the release of the fob to the service writer,I says I know this isnt your first rodeo when it comes to looking at vetts(he agreed with a confident nod),concerning potential damage to the rocker panel when lifting the car(offered my jacking pucks),he assured me Im in good hands,so after watching re-runs of today's headlines about 4x I decide to stretch out my legs and take a walk outside, look to my left and see DSOM in the air,as I get closer,Here where the HOLD THE PRESSES comes into play, they didn't use the gm recommended the lifted the car on the drivers/passenger along the rocker panels, their lift was a solid form that ran the length of each side of the rocker(platform was wrapped to cushion),so I goes and gets mr.service guy and I say WTF going on on how you lifted the car,he tells me have no worries everything is cool,I said for your sake it is,so the car is off the lift and inspected with a magnifying glass and there was no damage at all,so he tells me the reason there was no damage was because he put the windows down ,popped the hood, and trunck to take the pressure of the frame, this is the first I had ever heard of this,so in the end Goodyear GIVES ME 65% off the F1 tires, but dont know if I still want to go with the F1 tires, service rep told me gy warrants the F1 to 25k

Wow never heard of that either. Good to know for future reference. Oh, and paragraphs are your friend.

I believe, the opening of the doors, hood and hatch when lifting a Corvette was often done with older model Corvettes (I'm sure many here can jump-in and tell us as which model(s). The GY shop must not be too knowledgeable about more modern Corvettes. None-the-less, I'm glad there wasn't any damage.

I don't think what the GY guy did had ant effect on not breaking anything. More likely the lift point was spread out enough on the rockers that no cracking occurred to the rocker panels. Lucky for you this time.

If you'd do some paragraph breaks it'd be easier to read your post. As to the service, I doubt if I'd bring my car back there. Your car, your choice tho.

Your GY specialist is trapped in a time warp from about two or three Corvette generations ago. The "open doors" method has nothing to do with C6s or even C5s but it was common before that to allow enough flex to deter cracking at stress points. If I understand your post correctly, the real reason there was no damage was because they distributed the weight along the entire frame rail. IMHO you were probably lucky.
