I need them on the front more than the back. I keep curbing the chin. It is so painful to hear the skurrrrrrrappp. I've wondered about putting an old fashioned curb feeler on the chin of the vette. It may look weird but I'd at least know when I was getting close to the curb.
I bought a real neat aftermarket back-up system for my car. The sensors are built into a license frame that goes around your tag. You can put it on the back or front of the car. The tag comes in chrome or black. It beaps quicker and quicker as you get close to things and shows you on a digital readout inside how many feet you are away. I bought it from a local stereo shop. It retails for $300 but the stereo shop wanted to get rid of their inventory and sold me 4 of them for $100 each. I only need three and will sell the other should someone want it for the same $100.
IMO you don't really need them on a Corvette. On my Yukon XL Denali definitely.
Worst case...you open the door and stick your head out to see where you're going. I don't know about the Denali but I don't have any trouble backing-up my Suburban...I just keep going until my trailer hitch/ball runs into whatever's behind me.

Ouch!! Given the amount of money folks spend on appearance mods, I'm a bit surprised that safety and gadget mods like remote cameras aren't more common on this forum. There's one pricey package in particular that I've been wondering about: http://www.tvandnav.com/corvette.aspx. It doesn't include the remote camera, but switches the NAV view to that input when you shift into reverse.
