I actually have installed a Paxton, a Procharger and finally a Vortech system. From my experiences, the Vortech is the best supercharger by far. It is reliable and makes a ton of h.p.
since youve had all three can you tell us in what cars they went in and why the vortech was the best by far?? what wasnt reliable about the others and what kinda power you making with the vortech that the othes didnt
I had an AnA kit on my car. AnA is a GREAT company to work with. Andy is a stellar vendor but I had to wind up my A6 way too much to feel anything from the kit. Again, I liked Andy and his business but the characteristics of the kit were not suited for my daily street driving.
Many use a supercharger without a problem. Personally, I have reservations about using forced induction on a stock, cast-piston engine. It may be more 'cost effective' but IMO it's a less than ideal route to go. That being said as long as you don't get too greedy with the boost and don't run road courses you'll probably be fine.
Have you considered positive displacement? I am very happy with the drivability of the tvs2300. Instant torque and response and pulls like crazy. Good fun for street use. Very quiet with just the right sound and no worries of pressure leaks with tubing.

Man That Is way to PRETTY.....I would love to have a system like that, but to much $ for me to go Callaway...I need to have something like that for about 10K instead of 20K....

Shop around, others can certainly do it for less $ If you are just looking for the TVS. Callaway did a whole package with a full warrantee.
Thanks, I was getting ready to raise your basic concerns - about balancing SC system.

If you NEED a little more hp, you need to really start paying attention to a lot of variables.
I'm not an expect in this subject but did some research on the subject. For a SC system to be most effective it needs to be throughly researched out. For eg., the the exhaust system(not oversized for the SC system on the car), cooling, valve system (rockers & springs), tuning, etc. Anotherwords, BALANCE ALL THE COMPONENTS TO EACH OTHER TO MAXIMIZE OUTPUT, SAFELY. We don't want a failure. Remember, that maxing the system out means that you are getting closer to a failure. A tad might do it safely, BUT a tad more will do you in - blow or destroy the engine, etc. Good luck, there is alot of good advice being given to you, but go look in the FI (forced induction) threads for even greater information.

All three systems, i installed on my 93 Cobra Mustang. The Paxton uit, the bearings went out after 3 months, the Procharger was o.k. but had some tech issues with trying to keep the belt on when racing, it actually broke the snout off my crank. When i built the new motor, i went with the Vortech, i made more h.p. at less boost, i think because the Vortech is much more efficient. I ran the Vortech on my car for 8 years, running low 11's and high 10's in the 1/4. Never once had an issue with the Vortech, just my personal experience.
I also went to ECS for a blower on my C5. The power is insane but at the same time it's great for a daily driver. Been on for over 2 years without a bit of trouble. I was so impressed with the crew at ECS that when it came time to add a few more ponies to my C6 it was back to ECS-only this time with their cam package. Again-trouble free expert install. For my money there just isn't anyone better then ECS.
