It seems random, but sometimes I can't get into reverse on my manual shift 2006. Even trying moving a few feet in first and trying again doesn't help. Sometimes first is the same so I start in second before traffic starts honking at me. Is there any adjustment in the linkage? Any other suggestions?

Every T56 car I've owned has had trouble going into first and occasionally reverse. What I learned to do to help mitigate is to shift into first while the car is still rolling at 0-5. This will get the synchroes warmed up a bit better, then shift out. (For the first gear problem, anyhow)
Shifting into second and then first or reverse will help with this situation as well.
I don't really seem to be having this problem much with my TR6060, I'll try to take note of it if it does happen...

my 06 was not random one day it just would not go into reverse, period! the ended up putting a new 07 tranny in it, this has been a "known" problem with 06's I think there is a TSB out on this, my advice is to get it to a dealer!

Use 2nd as one option. Another option is to put in nuetral and let clutch out for moment to get synconizers moving then go back to 1st.
I have a 2006 M6, and had a similar problem. I hope yours isn't the same, as I would guess it is no longer under warranty. Here is a copy/paste response from me to a similar post a few months ago...
"Check all of the previous recommendations, and I hope the problem is solved.
If not, you may have the problem I had with my M6 '06.
It would not shift into reverse. Started slowly, and then came to a point that I could only get to reverse 1 out of ten tries. Still under warranty so took it back to my dealer.
Here's what the dealer did, right from the invoice: "Disassembled trans found reverse gear binding on main shaft. Replaced reverse gear, bearings, synchro and fork."
They also cleaned it all up and checked the other synchros.
Fortunately all covered under warranty.
Dealer told me that they hadn't seen many Corvettes with the problem, but mine was not the first..."
Hope this isn't your problem, but yours isn't the first I've responded to.
Same thing happens to me in first gear. I'll have to press in the cluth then put it in neutral and then try it again. This has happened up to 4 times once. It's so annoying.
For reasons that I will describe in a future post, the dealership tore apart my driveline and reassembled it. Afterward, it was very hard to get it into reverse (first was okay). I thought it was the reverse lockout solenoid. But, the dealership told me that there was an adjustment in the shift linkage. After the adjustment, no problems getting into reverese or any gear. (That is all I know about the adjustment that was performed, but you might want to review your Service Manual.)
funny you guys mention all of this.....I bought an 06 used and have noticed 1st gear seems somewhat difficult to get into and reverse is pretty fickle too.....I have an extended warranty and not sure if I want to take into the dealer and run the risk of having them do all kinds of work and have them tell me nothing is wrong. anyone want to chime in on suggestions?
