Has anybody had their car lowered at the dealership? I was wondering if they'd do it. If so, seems rather logical since you could have it aligned at the same time. Thanks
What will happen at the dealer is first they will tell you not to do it. In some cases they may also tell you it will void your warranty. If you insist they will charge you $65 per hour shop labor then insist you do a four wheel alignment in their shop for $150.
If you do it yourself, turning the four 10MM adjusting bolts is free. Take it to a good alignment shop for a four wheel alignment for usually less than the dealer. You just saved more than the $65 shop labor cost and can uses those $$ for other good mods.
Dealership Service Managers typically do not like to do mods. Their business is bringing cars in, doing defined service/repairs on those cars and getting them out the door ASAP so they can get the next one in. If they agree to do a mod for you they usually charge more to do it.
I had mine done at a dealership in Orlando who happened to have a Corvette performance shop. They did my widebody, cut my bushings, lowered and aligned.
Did an awesome job, on all of it, painting the rear quarters too. David
