Rolex 24 at Daytona
It's being broadcast live (with gaps) on Speed. Coverage is underway now and race will begin at 15:30 EST. The first 6-1/2 hours will be broadcast live. Speed will then break away to NASCAR, World of Outlaws, and the ever-popular paid programming until 07:00 EST on Sunday morning. Live broadcasting will then resume for the final 8-1/2 hours.
The one-hour intro made no mention of Corvette at all. It looks like there are only two privateer entries, Godstone Ranch Motorsports / Team MBR #7 (Edwards/Jones/McCutchen/Rees/Russell) and MCM / Black Flag Racing #19 (Breslin/Breslin/Romagnoli/Romanini/Vinkemulder). Stevenson Motorsports has entered two Camaro GT.Rs, replacing the Pontiac GXPs they've raced in past years.

The race started under heavy rain and a full-course yellow. Corvettes are still in their starting positions: 4th #7 (Paul Edwards) and 28th #19 (Sean Paul Breslin). There are 30 GT entries.

I don't know for sure, but I think that Lou would have a better shot in Grand Am. There are too many factory sponsored cars in ALMS for LG Motorsport to compete with. It looks like most of the cars in Grand Am are privateers.

Looks like Ricardo Romagnoli has gone off-track in #19 and nosed into a tire barrier. The engine is running but he can't move. There's a full-course caution until he can be hauled away.
John McCutchen in #7 is six laps down in 34th. He has run the third fastest GT lap so far (113.625), but is not really competitive at this point. Of course it's still very early.

Maybe he's gonna take out the Porsche with a Camaro so he can get his payback with Bergmeister without wrecking one of the new C6Rs?

Joe Nonnamaker running 16th in class in the #43 Mazda RX-8 just tried to straighten a chicane and crossed right in front of Ricardo Romagnolo in the #19 Corvette still limping along at 24th in class 38 laps down. Ricardo stood on the brakes but could not avoid punching the rear of Nonnamaker. Nose job!!

Sports Car Race???
How can they call it a sports car race with no Corvettes in the GT class except for couple of private entries.
At least the Camaro's seem to be real team. Same one that ran the Pontiac G8 GXP successfully last year. I saw a report from their shop and the owner indicated the wheelbase on the G8 was exactly the same on the new Camaro. Could it be the Camaro is a Holden chassis made in the US.

Fortunes have shifted. With Diego Romanini now driving, the #19 Corvette appears to have survived a minor collision with the #43 Mazda and passed Scott Russell in the #7 several laps ago. Russell's car must be ailing because he has now fallen nine laps behind Romanini.
Magnusson is now 4th and back on the lead lap in GT. Behind him are two Mazda RX-8s and another Stevenson Camaro GT-R.
And for anyone who cares, the two Ferarri 430 Challenge entries are next-to-last and dead last ("retired").
