From an article I just read the new 2011 Cadillac CTS-V coupe being introduced this spring will have a dual clutch manual transmission available to go along with the new LSA 6.2L supercharged engine rated at 556HP.
The article indicated a 0-60MPH time in 3.9SEC, with the CTS-V weighting in at 4200LBS.
I'm also hearing rumors this same engine or a version of it is slated to go into the new Camaro Z28 model to compete with the Mustang Cobra Shelby GT500.
I'm curious as to whether there will be any significant changes in the 2011 Corvette engine lineup with respect to the application of supercharging in the GS and Z06 models.
I can envision my new Torch Red GS coupe sitting in the garage waiting for spring to arrive with 7 miles on the odometer becoming obsolete before I even have an opportunity to start driving it in May.

yup... that's the way it goes... although I'm not exactly sure why "obsolete", just not the "top dawg", but still nice...
I am still not "for sure" on the styling on this Coupe. I DO know that I prefer the styling of ANY C6 Corvette over this Coupe.
Its styling is different and I look forward to seeing one in person -- it may grow on me.
You do however have to admire the desire on GM's part to bring a vehicle like this to the market. The HP, the avant garde styling (I don't know what else to call it!!), and the technology are all impressive. It will be fun to see this Coupe go up against its competing Audi's, Mercedes, and BMW's in a comparison test. Its not always just about numbers......the Cadillacs have not traditionally fared well over these cars in refinement during these tests.
May the best car win (have you heard THAT before anywhere??)
I agree that the 4 door looks sweet. Hopefully the coupe will grow on me but something is strange about the back quarter panel from the 3/4 view I think...

That's the way GM operates, look at the LT4 released in 96, so I worked a deal and traded my 95 LT1 for a 96 LT4. They did the same with the 01 to 02 Z06 but I waited for the 3rd year before I bought my C5 Z06. GM did the same with the C6 LS2 05-07 then LS3 in 08. There's a pretty good chance your fears will come true, you just have to ignore the newer models.

The absence of a B Pillar takes me back to my teens - the true hardtop look was the coolest aspect of 50's and 60's design. Leaning over the seat to roll down those back windows was an essential part of the pre-cruise ritual.

Add to this that the Mustang GT500 is getting an aluminum block, shedding 100+lbs, adding 10 more hp for 550hp total.......and the base vette looks to be falling further behind.....and the GT500 can be had for under 50K. Then the new 400hp 5.0 GT hits this year too.....
You guys can't be surprised vette sales have been tanking, the competition has got tougher and with the base vette msrp nearly at 50k, it's just not anywhere near the postiton in price/performance it was in the C6 hayday of 05-07.
IMO a base vette no longer would meet my demands if I were purchasing new, don't think I'm just getting on a base vettes case......I also find the new price for a Z06 way too high in todays market. A base vette should MSRP in the lower 40's still, at least there is more market position there to slot above the 370z/Camaro.
