I bought my own TPMS tool for $85. It's the TIPS tool and it works really great. It takes me less than 2 minutes to set all 4 TPMS sensors when I change from street to track tires/wheels and back.
BEZ06 gave me the following link for the TIPS tool:
Next time you are near Utah, I'll be happy to help. You might try posting in the regional area....you'll get people near you. Most people here who have the tool would be happy to help. Who mounted the tires on the wheels and why didn't they do this as part of that job?
I've got one, come on up and you can use it. I'll be home all weekend.
Take I-40 east to I-77 north to I-81 North to I-66 east to I-95 north. When you get close to Philadelphia, give me a call and I'll steer you right in. About 592 miles

If whoever's mounting your tires doesn't have a TPMS tool I'd check around locally. From what I know most all Discount Tire stores will reset your sensors free of charge (I know our local DT outlets do this). I imagine there are other tire stores or service shops that would also do this for free as a gesture of good will. I suggest you call around and see. Even without the sensors being registered on your new wheels you can still drive the car to a shop to have it done.
And the 2010s can be programmed by lowering the pressure in the tire....suggested by BEZ06 and verified on his 2010 by GSRANDY. We still need to verify that the 2010 sensors can also be triggered by a TPMS tool.....so if there are any volunteers, post up.
Bummer. I guess GM is trying to make everything harder. I miss the ability to pull codes directly from the dash without pulling my scanner out
I think GM realized during the C5 run that they (GM Dealers) lost out on a lot of dealer visits with C5's because we could easily program our sensors ourselves AND we could pull the codes and decipher for ourselves what to do and whether it needed the dealer or not, which in most cases it did not.
PLUS as far as pulling codes, they saved a few bucks on every car by taking that feature out.
