I've had a V1 since 1999. There is no substitute.

This works well for me. Stock V1 visor mount with curved portion facing the windshield:

Remote has been customized by a guy on eBay. Search Thin Valentine and choose the one that includes remote tactile mute switch shown in second photo below:

Switch is mounted to back of turn indicator lever:

Got mine in '99 also, and so far V1 has saved me a boatload of money.

The Escort 9500 is a great detector but it is not a V1. Since the V1 came out I have never heard of anyone not being satisfied with the V1. The way it provides the driver with a count of radar sources and the direction of the source provides the driver with the information to avoid getting caught with a radar or laser device.

Picked up a V1 when I got this new job which 67 miles away. My V1 has saved me at least 10 tickets. Well worth the money IMHO.

Yeah, looking back at it I guess you're right. Totally blew past me. Sigh. I hate getting old. In my defense I hadn't had my morning coffee yet so my brain was only half in gear

I have the Escort 9500ix and a Bel 995 that cost half as much as the Escort. I plugged them both in for a 500 mile drive and the Escort was no better than the Bel. They were amazingly equal. If you don't need the GPS, save yourself a few bucks......

Just got first ticket in the C6 ( LEO was going the other way on Freeway with radar grrrrr)

Do the detectors power up with the rear view mirror mounting?

I have thought of buying a V1 or the Escort but have to say the Whistler does the job, even gives you the type of signal it is detecting vocally.
you live in rochester ny get the valentine

If you wire them that way, yes. My V1 is mounted on the mirror and powered off the mirror's power line so turning on the car powers up the V1.

The V1 is the only one that tells you WHERE the LEO is with certainty!

It is trully amazing that is also shows you how many threats are out there. I have seen as many as five at one time. Guess what,,,,it was right I found out two miles later.
