Radar Detector
This works well for me. Stock V1 visor mount with curved portion facing the windshield:

The Escort 9500 is a great detector but it is not a V1. Since the V1 came out I have never heard of anyone not being satisfied with the V1. The way it provides the driver with a count of radar sources and the direction of the source provides the driver with the information to avoid getting caught with a radar or laser device.
Cool! I was wondering when someone would start a RD thread. No one ever wants to talk about this subject and trying to find any past threads on it is darn near impossible. Hopefully we can sticky this one so it isn't so hard to find RD opinions in the future. Mods, sticky, FAQ, something! Who knows how long it might be before this subject comes up again? Please don't let it disappear!

I have the Escort 9500ix and a Bel 995 that cost half as much as the Escort. I plugged them both in for a 500 mile drive and the Escort was no better than the Bel. They were amazingly equal. If you don't need the GPS, save yourself a few bucks......
Well let me put my flame suit on and break the cycle here. I bought a Whistler Pro 78 for $88.00, have had it for around 2 years. It has saved me several tickets, works fine, does give off a lot of false signals in the city, but you learn those spots after awhile. I place it on a dash mat the type used for cell phones etc. and all is good. I have thought of buying a V1 or the Escort but have to say the Whistler does the job, even gives you the type of signal it is detecting vocally.

The V1 is the only one that tells you WHERE the LEO is with certainty!
It is trully amazing that is also shows you how many threats are out there. I have seen as many as five at one time. Guess what,,,,it was right I found out two miles later.
