Definately. Anything that discourages a thief is a good idea. Get the Gorilla locks, one for each lug.

http://www.gorilla-auto.com/gorilla.locks

Gorilla Wheel Lock System 71633NBC for black, 71633N for chrome. Get them from Summit racing or buy from the auction site with bing/MrRebate cash back.

The gorilla guard is harder to remove and u can call them up and special order 20 of them.

I actually have 2 different styles of Gorilla wheel locks on each wheel. One similar to the ones in the photo above and a second lock that has the outside of the lock as 'free spinning'. That way they can't just use some type of tool to dig into the exterior and wrench them off.

A thief could still get them off but it would take a little effort and they would probably have to make some noise as well.

Oh yes, I live in an apartment so no garage.

I don't think it really matters much which one you get. Any one will slow an amateur but someone who really wants your wheels will have no trouble removing any of them. Ask a tire shop which is the hardest wheel lock to remove. The answer is there is not much difference in any of them.

I've been using McGard's for year's, and usually get em' from Summit Racing. Lot's of local tire and auto part's store's carry Gorilla's or McGard's too. As mentioned, these are just a deterrent, as thieve's have way's of getting thing's they really wan't. Also, it's a good idea to order a spare key and keep it handy. I keep one on my basement wall with my tire changing tool's, and key code card number tag.

Every person that has reported their wheels stolen in the past 5 years had them stolen in their driveway at night. Don't you think the pounding shown in the video, repeated 20 times, would alert the home owner that something was going on in the still of the night. Or to put it another way, do you think a thief would risk making that much noise to get your wheels in your driveway. I think NOT!

I doubt you would be able to hear a rubber mallet. Don't think for a second a thief couldn't get those locks off without waking you up.

Shoot, they could take the whole car and not wake you! If Locks on wheels make you feel better, get them, but they'll take the wheels if they want them and if they're polite, they might leave the locks for you to reuse.

The only people annoyed with the wheel locks are you when you need to get the wheel off and shops that you take the car to for work. Honestly, it's not worth the effort to use them.

Thieves can buy the locks too and then they have the keys to eliminate all that nasty hammering.

This just shows the level of your understanding of the situation.

Sir, your azz is showing. Don't be naive or a jerk. Listen to what multiple people are tell you.

Locks are a good deterrent for the amateur. A pro can strip your car in a suburban neighborhood driveway w/o waking the neighbors dog or the owners inside. Fact.

Of course it is better to have them than not.

And that was my point all along. A pro will steal your whole car, not the wheels.

Well, townhouse, no garage, car in parking space about 17 feet directly in line w. front door. Thief knew where the key was (probably worked at dealer at some point in their misguided and crappy life----hopefully, their arms, legs and something else has fallen off due to pure karma ).

Crashed a window , ruined a door lock, opened the trunk, got the wheel lock key, and jacked up the car on both sides. Took all 4 wheels and left the car sitting on the siderails and frame. Left a full size, unused alloy wheel and tire in the trunk even tho it was open.

Probable reason: only had an "order" for four wheels---why waste time getting a fifth? Not too smart (oh really, why do you say that?) because wouldn't have had to take off one wheel if they took the full spare...but it was sunk under the mats, and anchored down, etc.

No neighbs heard a thing and neither did I until I looked out the front door.....
