Default Dead Bug inside headlight

I have no idea how it got in there, but there is a small dead bug inside of my headlights resting on the colored section of it.

Do you suppose GM would replace it under warranty? And just how hard is it to get them out?

I have a small black spec of something in one of mine too. I was thinking of using my air compressor and just trying to blow it out. I haven't investigated thoroughly yet but there has to be a way for air to get in at the adjusters which I think are under the hood? Worth a try. The little sucker got in there, maybe blowing air in there can at least blow him out of the exposed area.

Yea, I haven't investigated, I guess there has to be a way to access by removing the bulb, I assume you can change them. I could probably remove a bulb and hook as small flexible hose up to a vacuum cleaner and snake it in from the rear and suck it out.

It looks like there is an access panel to the headlight on the front side of the wheel well liner. I haven't pulled it off yet, but that looks like the only way to get in there.

If you are still under warranty make the Dealer take it all apart and remove it. That just shouldn't happen anyway.

He is already cooked and charred and curled up in a little black piece of crust. The trick now is getting him out.

I think I would rather do it myself than let a dealer touch my car.

Small flexible Vacuum works better. I found out the hard way about blowing compressed air into the light housing. Other crap in the bottom of the housing will blow up onto the bezel for all to see.

Either that or drive down a real bumpy dirt road and the vibration may make him move to parts unseen...

Fred - time to get the video out...this forum could use a good maintenance video.

I realize the rest of the Corvette forum doesn't understand what I'm talking about here - I'm thinking Angel Ride Videos should branch off into Corvettes!

BTW Fred, you'll find that this forum REALLY likes when you attach pics. Let me be the first to ask for pics of the crispy fried critter.

My friend had a bug in his C6 headlight. We happen to be doing a headlight swap anyways so we took the headlight with the visitor and the bug was shaken out easily.

We did take the front bumper and loosen the fenders to get the headlights off.

Took a little over and hour to get it done, if I remember right.

Is your car yellow? I notice that color attracts more insects.

We have an Arctic White 07' C6, and guess what, we have your bugs twin sister in our right headlight. Don't know how long she's been in there, but no matter what I do, can't seem to shake here loose. Hate like hell to have the dealership start poking around in there. Think this might be a good Saturday job before summer.

I don't think it's normal to get condensation in these headlights is it?

No Condesation is not normal. If you look at the headlight you can see the gap under the projector assembly.
