Recently purchased the 9500ix and so far I really like it. The only thing I would like to see is what mounting options are out there outside of the double suction cup windshield mount...
Can you all post pics of your different mounting and your opinions of each? Thanks in advance...

Though I used a piece of sheet metal that I had left over in my garage from another project. Painted it nice and wired it to the power in the mirror. Fits very nice and out of site. If you don t like this try the CF search engine, as you can imagine this topic's been covered before.

Hardly even noticeable, one simple wire from the detector to the rearview mirror, turns on/off automatically with your car, no windshield mounts that scream "i have a radar detector".
Got mine from Southern Car Parts in the package deal so not sure the exact name of the visor mount.

Good product but the mounting options suck. I have the visor mount but can't get my finger on the top of the unit (locking button) to secure the unit on and it pops off during hard acceleration. The windshield mount w/ suction cups is also unsatisfactory. Have used Passports for years and am still looking for a decent mount

I had the same problem with it sliding off the mount during hard acceleration or rough roads. I wrapped a piece of electrical tape around the mount where it connects to the detector and now it's so snug you would really have to yank to detach it.

See the close up picture of mine in post No. 4 above.
I had the same problem with not being able to work any of the buttons with my fingers, so I put the mount in the garage vise and put two additional bends in it. Now it is perfect and can also slide it all the way onto the mount and it never falls off. Quick, simple and easy solution!
Escort now sells a new style suction mount that uses one large suction cup that is activated by a lever that draws suction on the cup, seems to hold better than the old 2-cup mount.

Goof luck!
That's the thread that I was going to recommend also....

I did the same... Also mounted a small piece of foam to top which contacts the windshield so Zero shake.... works perfect
