Its mine even though the wife is the reason that we have it. She wanted to go faster in open road races. I didn't want to put a roll cage in the Dodge Charger SRT8 and certainly didn't want to put one in the '68 Camaro.
So the Corvette is primairly a race car. She has not driven a stick for many years. She said she wanted to try it but that has not happened
In regards to your "better" half..is the vette "our" car or "your" car? And if it's your car does the better half get to drive it...or is it strictly off-limits!! In my case the vette is "my" car...and the GF won't drive it because I'm so **** about it...as she would say "if I drive it I might get the tires dirty...". And as I would say "that's what soap and water's for"... p.s. Don't respond if it'll get you in trouble...
All mine ... another reason to get a 6-speed she's only got automatic down
sorry, but for all you married folks, it's half her car no matter if she drives it or not. It's marital property just like everything else is in your life.
I'm not married, so my cars are actually -MY- cars.

You are correct sir, however there are exceptions...
Even though I am currently married, it is strictly MY Vette.
That's good to hear!
Although unless you have a VERY good lawyer (or a pre-nup that actually holds water), I'm sure she's getting something else worth half the value of the Vette in return for you keeping the Vette. Usually all marital property is thrown into a big pot and then is divvied up such that the worth of the two individual "piles" is half of that of the total sum. So even though you are keeping the Vette, she's probably going to be getting something in return that's not worth as much to you as the Vette that you would have otherwise received if you didn't have the Vette.

Ah yes, you are generally correct. Although when "fault" comes into the picture, the piles are not necessarily split 50/50.
She'll drive everything but the C6Z....not because I wont let her...and not because she cant handle a stick...because it scared the CRAP out of her the first time she drove it
But to answer your question....they are OURS....her name is on the title to everyone of them.....I wouldnt have it any other way...
Got rid of the other half a long time ago. Got a dog and a vette. Couldn't ask for a better companion and he doesn't care about my car, and no he doesn't get to ride in it.
Mine!! Even though I've offered, she wont' drive it and she knows how to drive a stick. Might be because she was against me buying it. She thinks I should get a personalized plated that says; "I WON", meaning the discussion as to whether I got to buy it or not.

Not to be harsh, but with that attitude, you'll never have to worry about getting married.
Of course it is...but let's not fool ourselves....relationships DO go south from time to time..and thinking just because yours is the only name on a registration or title means the other half isnt entitled to her half is plain foolish....If it's property that was aquired during the marriage it's considered marital property and it IS fair game for 50-50 division..
Here's an example...during the 80s I amassed a collection of Ford Mustangs...all needed restored...I spent countless hours after work over a period of ten years restoring them...did everything myself, with the exception of paint......I rebuilt the drivetrains, suspensions, even did the upholstery myself...My wife at the time could have cared less about them...showed absolutely NO interest in them.....but when it came divorce time you would have thought she was out there in the garage sweatin along side me during all those years...HARDLY....she never as much as put air in the tires....but she sure a chit got 50% of the "fully restored" appraised value
