41U is the GM paint code for the black exterior on an 07 C6.

Paint code for Black ??
I have a 2007 Z-51, black of course, and I jjust took it into the dealer for the "roof recall". When I asked if they were going to match the same black paint code they told me there was only one black.
I had a 2003 Z06 that had some paint work and I remember being told that there were different paint codes or batches for black.
Can anyone help set my mind at ease.
I looked on the sticker in the glove box and it shows 1YY07, is that the paint code?

The paint code is usually the last numbers on the glove box sticker. My car's black and reads like this. BC/CC(base coat/clear coat) U(upper) 8555. If there was an L(lower) code that would be for accent paint. Industry normally uses a "WA" prefix, so my black would be WA8555. The GM touch up bottle also has the Code 41 mentioned. This is the same stuff my C5 also used.

Looking at the talon90 post today from the Bash, it's interesting to note on the slide of exterior colors the names are Jetstream Blue, Blade Silver, Torch Red, Arctic White, etc., but Black, like always, is just Black. Not Midnight Black or something more descriptive, just Black.
