I know I will be in the minority on this one but....... I bought a new Whistler Pro 78 for around $100.00. It has voice commands that tell you what type of signal it has detected, and so far over 2 years it has saved me many times. I just place it on one of those dash mats and plug it into the lighter. I have looked at buying the Valentine or Escort but this little Whistler does it all for me. Does not have many of the other features such as arrows telling you where the signal is coming from or GPS but for detecting radar/lasar so far it has been flawless.

I have a 9500ix mounted to the driver's side sunvisor. Can't remember where I bought the mount, but it's a nice position, and hides away behind the visor if I get pulled over.
