Default Broken Headlight Stud, Worth Fixing?

Well, I ordered some black headlights because I wasn't happy with tinting them, and of course, one had to arrive broken. Looks like it wasn't packed right and the stud was sitting on the bottom of the box. Who ever packed it would have been surprised if it didn't break off.

Questing is, is it worth fixing? Or should I fight with the vender and try to get replacement. If I can get a replacement, I will probable end up paying $50.00 shipping and another $50.00 broker fees.

That's more than a broken mounting stud. I wouldn't accept it. You paid for good condition (I think) parts. Good luck.

While I agree with the above, I am also sure that since it appears to be a clean break and its not really the stud itself but the shell that is broken, it would be easy to repair it stronger than new with JB Weld. It would take me ten minutes to fix that and 24 hours for curing time.

I agree with the repair.

Have you even talked with the person you bought them from? What about the shipping company to file a claim for damage?

JB Weld and move on. Why wait weeks and spend money.

If you want a pro opinion on that take it to a local higher end body shop or motorcyle shop. They should have a decent quality plastic welder. I do some plastic welding in my own home shop. If it is a weldable material it makes for a very nice strong repair as filler rod that matches the plastic is used and fuses it all together.

I agree. JB Weld was made for that kind of repair. Easy fix.
