Default Bluetooth Touch Pro 2 TP2 Problem

I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 and a 2009 ZO6. My Bluetooth will pair, I can call out dialing from my phone but not through the nav sys. I can not answer calls when my bluetooth is paired with the car. My phone lags when paired with the car. The phone works with my wife's Ford Fusion. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix?

Hello,

I am not showing that phone as a phone that can be used with the system. Here is a link that may help you out:

I can't tell you specifically on how to get that phone to get to work with the Corvette, but I will say that the Microsoft Bluetooth stack seems to be slightly less than standard, and causes problems with some cars. My Touch Pro (not "2", the older one) works with my 2009 C6 just fine. It does not work with my 2007 infiniti, but does work with the 2008+ infinitis. When researching, I learned about the less than excellent bluetooth stack that causes troubles.

If you go to the bluetooth website below it shows that my phone should work with my Corvette. I found this site on the bottom of the site you posted.

Please help,

Ed

Hello Ed,

I do apologize, but the link you gave me is not a GM site. Only the phones that are on our site have been tested. If you click on the Chevrolet icon and select Corvette, your phone is not showing up. Just because it is not on our site, does not mean that it will not work. It just means that it has not been tested. The Bluetooth site you viewed is just saying that the phone does have the capability to have the headset function work with the 2009 Corvette. The rest of the functions are not showing they will work. I can not even say for sure that the headset part will work. These are claims made by a third party. According to my sources, I do not believe that phone will work properly.

What I think is not right is that GM only tests a handful of phones. There are no Smart phones on there list. Half of the U.S has smart phones. That does not make it right just because my phone in not on a short list. The Bluetooth website shows the phone should work. All I want is my nice new phone work with my made in the USA C6 Zo6 that I love.

My problem is that the headset function does not work with m 2009 Corvette. That is the only function I need to work. I could care less about the rest of the functions. I do appreciate you looking into this for me. I am just frustrated.

thank you for your help,

Hello Ed,

I understand your frustrations completely. I know there are a lot of phones that have not been tested that do work. Have you tried another phone to make sure the problem is not the system itself? Maybe have the dealership take a look at it? Really, the only thing I could do is give you the instructions in the manual. The bluetooth site says that the headset function should work. That is why I think maybe there could possibly be a problem with the system. Again, I apologize and wish I could be of more assistance on this issue.

Yes I have an old 2002 phone that works. I did take the car to the dealership (4 hours) no help. I am going to talk to some of my friends at the Tech Center, maybe they might have an idea.

Just got my 2010 GS this week and also have the issues with my HTC TP2.

I'm having the same issues as you and the phone runs so slow it's not worth trying to use in the car through Bluetooth. I do use the same phone in my Ford with sync service and have no issues. I have not tried another phone in the Vette but may try that at a later date.

I tried GM help center. There response was your phone is not on our short list so it does not work. they can't tell me why it does not work just that is doesn't. the people that are on the phone are real nice, but nice does not get the problem fixed. I had the same thing happen at the dealer. The service man says well my phone works it must be your phone. I was there 4 hours. I wish GM would ask questions like what type of phone do you have? What is the O S? Then tell the customer I will get a hold of the GM bluetooth division and see what the problem is and fix it because GM wants to take care of its customers. I have contacted Bluetooth.org with my complaint. they gave me a ticket ID and asked the following questions.

What version of Mocrosoft Windows Mobile is on your phone?
Is the Bluetooth Car Kit a factory install?
And does your wife's phone, if different, work in your car?

Maybe I will get some real answers. I will keep up the fight. I sure seems like one. I do love my car. But I have to drive it with a bluetooth headset on. Witch I hate.
I have a question how can a new $29.99 headset work with my phone but not a new $81,000 car not?

It is a sad state of affairs I'm afraid. Just because a company follows the Bluetooth specification and offers an implementation in a vehicle, doesn't mean it will be any good. I really hope that GM and the Bluetooth folk can get everything sorted for you.

I had a similar problem with my HTC Imagio in my 2010 GS.
It would make the hands-free connection via Bluetooth and I could make and recieve calls just fine, but forget trying to use the phone while the hands-free connection was active.

If you're not afraid of messing around with the registry settings on your phone, I found the following registry changes fixed the problem for me:

1. Modify the HandsFree plug-in: HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\HandsFree
i. Change SupportedFeatures to 45 (default is 1135 mine was 1379)
ii. Add value HFBDA binary, set to same value as LastConnectedBda
iii. Add value HFDeviceType DWORD 2

2. Modify the WIDCOMM bluetooth general settings: HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BtConfig\General
i. Change bdaddr to (no value) delete the existing key value
ii. Change DisableReopenAudio to 0 (default is 1) I didn't have this registry key so I created it with DWORD value 0

3. Reboot device

The thread where I found this is here:

http://forums.wireless.att.com/t5/AT...os/m-p/1898689

Another recommendation is to check with Verizon (or whoever) and see if they've released a software update for the phone. The latest update for the HTC Imagio is supposed to have an updated bluetooth stack that's supposed to work better. I haven't tried it yet because my phone is working fine right now and I don't want to mess with it.

Thank you Ray,
I downloaded MobileRegistryEditor.exe
Change SupportedFeatures to 45
Change bdaddr to (no value) delete the existing key value
Reboot device

and it worked!

I could not find
ii. Add value HFBDA binary, set to same value as LastConnectedBda
iii. Add value HFDeviceType DWORD 2

Change DisableReopenAudio to 0 (default is 1) I didn't have this registry key so I created it with DWORD value 0

but It still worked. My OS is stable now.

Again thank you!!

ed

ps Bluetooth.org said GM will have a fix this summer.

pss Thanks to all of the people that tried to help me.

Cool! Glad it worked for you.

The 2 items:
ii. Add value HFBDA binary, set to same value as LastConnectedBda
iii. Add value HFDeviceType DWORD 2

These are new keys you need to create under HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\HandsFree

But if it's working fine without them, maybe they're not really needed.
