My car goes ding, ding, ding when I open the door now. I have tried to figure out what is left on -- ie the mirror lights, trunk lid open, whatever... I am quite certain that it was not doing this when I bought it or for the first several months of driving it.
Sometimes if the key fob is too close to the car it will ding three times to let you know that you left the keys in the car, this can be deleted through your DIC
It will honk the horn three times if you leave the key fob inside when you close the door.
As for the dinging, you may have bumped the interior lights on. The switch is on the left near your knee. It is really easy to accidently turn them on.

Our 2006 would do this occasionally, and now our 2009 sometimes does the same thing. I've checked all the things that could be "wrong" to cause the chime, and never found anything.
If it happened every time, then I'd say "It's goofy but normal".
But in fact, it's just goofy sometimes.
My 09 has done this twice. Once getting in first thing in the morning and once getting out. I never took time to investigate at the time, but later I wondered if maybe it was because of the time of day. I have several vehicles and they are setup to have the lights stay on when the vehicle is locked or unlocked when it is dark. As I type this I can not remember if the vette is setup to auto illuminate or not, but if it is it may be that when the lights are on because of that feature you are hearing the warning that is associated with a light left on with out being keyed or accesory on. ????
