What are you looking at??? It's a coupe with the top off.

I'll tell you what, If I had $35,000 cash to spend on a C6, I wouldn't be looking at any Vette older than an '08. You're looking to get a manual trans, the '08 has the new TR 6060 trans, it's so much better than the '07, the '08 has the upgraded steering, the LS3, possible NPP, the CF center console. And you shouldn't get hung up on a 3LT thing either. The HUD is cool in the 3LT, but the 1, or 2LT's stereo sounds better than the Bose units. And then there's F55 vs Z51, have you ever driven a Z51, you should. Where are you located?

Based on what I paid a dealer for my 07 vert will full options 6 months ago, those prices are too high. I got my car for $1700 over what you offered and that was even with 11 months of factory warranty left. Car stickered new for $65k.

Find a dealer that is hungry.

Oops..got that backwards...it shows a coupe and lists in the title as a Vert.

I am in South Dakota...........so quantity to shop for is NOT HERE.

That is why I am looking everywhere.

I have posted several times WTB....but very little response with what I am looking for which is very specific.

I have a bad back......so I am thinking the f55 is for me. If I lean too much in the corners...I will do the z51 sway bars and have the best of both worlds.

If I could find an 08 for this money and it is what I am looking for...OFCOURSE I would go that route......but since warmer weather has arrived..........prices have gone up!

If you have any suggestions....I am all ears!

I can find dealers that are hungry.....but.....finding them with the car I am looking for..... is VERY DIFFICULT

yachtnman:

Have you looked on autotrader.com? I saw several that had most if not all of what you are looking for and maybe those dealers are hungry. If they are asking $35-36K would you figure $3k or so less would get it?

The point you are missing is that I am looking for very specific colors/options/miles and condition.

Yes I have googled "corvettes for sale" and found all of them and been watching for two months now.

Yes I can find a better deal......but so far...not with all the items I am looking for.

I wanted Nav and f55 of z51 in crystal red 08 pr Monterey red on 06/07.

This one even has the rotors drilled with the f55.....all I need to do is add z51 sway bars and I have a better suspension/brake system than a z51 stock for a guy with a back issue.

I may be paying a grand or maybe even two for getting exactly what I want.

What I really want is an 08 with all those options for 35k............ but it's not out there.

Summers are short in South Dakota....so I don't want to waste all summer looking for a little better deal when I can be having fun this week!

If there are any 08's for sale with these options/colors/miles and perfect condition....I will pay 35k(my max budget)......speak now!..........as the check goes out tomorrow to buy this one.

By the way.....I did offer less on this one 1st..........it took all of 35k to buy it.

It's easier to be objective about getting a good deal when you are removed from the situation, and dont want or "need" the car. I think alot of us remember going through all these thoughts when we were shopping, I know I do.

1. if you're set on exact options/colors, you will end up paying more than you would for a car of equal value if you were a little flexible. Sometimes 6 months down the road that exact set of options/colors doesnt seem so crucial anymore.

2. if you have fear of a car "getting away" you will end up paying more, you have to not get attached and this is hard to do.

3. if you want the car soon/for summer, you will end up paying more.

I was guilty of 1, 2, and 3 when I got mine. Like many here, I think 35k is high for this car. There is psycology involved. You offered less, but how long did you let the dealer think about it, a week? a month? Its a game of who will reach their breaking point first, and the dealers do this for a living. If you fear the car getting away, they've got you.

I just paid $35.5k, what I considered top dollar, for the following:
2007 Z51 C6 coupe 3LT A6 NAV 12k mi. + after mkt things I wanted- black wheels, full Corsa's (longer than catbacks), K&N Cold Air Box, speed chip +35 hp, which I probably won't use.

Bought 3 mos ago. Private party, which I feel more comfortable with. And, LMB, the only color I was looking for so my choice was limited. Saw an 06 w/o Z51, for 31.5k (went for 30,750). Those were my only two choices, and cars were close.

Didn't want to wait indefinitely to find another low LMB car, especially in close proximity.

The F55 is rare it seems, so I'm figuring you may be paying for that. Seems like you should be able to buy the car for $33k or so, unless the car has a couple of grand worth of extras that you want IMO.

Sounds like you found the car you want just go get it.
Just bought an 07 Coupe with every option except the F55 with only 11k on it and it is in as perfect shape as it could be in Atomic Orange paid $35,9 for it and it was a no haggle price, and I tried to get him down and he said keep shopping so I bought it.
Maybe on the high side but with the miles and condition I didn't pass it by.
They come with 36/36 bumper to bumper in 07 and remainder of 5 yr drivetrain.
Having a little bit of factory warranty left is worth alot to me when buying a 35k plus vehicle.
Just go get it, it's what you want.

There is no way that either a dealer or private owner is going to get those prices you quote.
Others may weigh in here....but I am thinking no more than $28,500 tops for this car. Its going to cost you to fix that wheel too....
Sorry but that car is worth a lot more than $28.5. Good luck trying to justify that one with the seller.

$32-$33k sounds far more reasonable given the mileage. The curb rash sucks but I wouldn't even bring it up because it's not going to help your case. $40k is ridiculous though.

I agree with KX...buy it if you like it.
But I do think its a bit high for an 07 3LT...i bought my 09 1LT CSC (has HUD) brand new in Jan 2010 for around $48K. Good luck!

I have to believe that $31-32 will buy the car. If it has what you want I'd be careful about passing it up for 3-5% of the price. Also, you have to consider if you are planning to keep it for a long time and put a bunch of miles on it ...or are you someone who will be looking to trade up/out every few years. If you are a trader you probably want to sharpen your pencil and try for $30 or less. At the end of the day, it's a toy so you should probably just buy the d@mn thing and enjoy it
Good luck

The MSRP on this car was about $55k. It's 3 years old. At $35k, that would be 63.6% of MSRP. Any dealer would kill for that % on a 3 year old car. That is too high a % of MSRP for a 3 year old car to be selling for.

50% is the general rule for a 3 year old car. The car has low miles, so 55% of MSRP is about right, so that would be $30k. Then add about
$1k for the 12/12 warranty the dealer is offering. That comes out to $31k.

The RPO Z51 is ok for what it includes, but the F55 was a higher value than the Z51 in 07. I think the thread is based on option to cost.

I think you should just buy the car. You have touched the car and it has "touched" you. You can spend too much time traveling to far away places trying to find a better car at a better deal, only to be disappointed. You will not be disappointed with the car you have found.

Good Luck!
