KBB Private Party is $35,985....Retail is $39685.(I know it is only a guide)
Condition is 9 to 9.5 of 10 (Interior is perfect...exterior has about 10 pinhead chips scattered about the car with a minor curb rash on one wheel)
OK, I know that this one has more options --- but a brand new 1LT 2009 can be had for $42K -- with 0% financing.
There is no way that either a dealer or private owner is going to get those prices you quote.
Others may weigh in here....but I am thinking no more than $28,500 tops for this car. Its going to cost you to fix that wheel too....
Buy it if you like it....!! Forget about all the know-it-all's that quote what 1LT's can be had for, they are stripped down cars, that's why they can be hand for less, because they are less car!!! Go the 3LT, you will not be sorry, especially if you like the color combo, etc. A few thousand saved now means nothing if you do not get what you want.....me, I would never buy a 1LT or a stripped down anything....my $0.009999 cents worth.
$35,000 is way to high. $31,000 +/- is more like it.
You say everyone wants 3LT. ..but that sounds like you are repeating what the seller told you. It is true the 3LT offers a lot, but the fact YOU are mentioning it makes it sound like the seller has done TOO good a job in convincing you that the 3LT is adding more value than what it should to the base price.
The original 12 month bumper to bumper warranty from GM ended in 2008 on this car. Is this a dealer offering you their own warranty for 12k/12mo from the day you purchase it?
I was choosing between a 2007 1LT and a new 2009 2LT.
The 2007 had under 4000 miles.
The owner had a reserve set at $32,900. His last offer to me was $30,500 and I was holding out for a little less. The morning he made the $30,500 offer, I decided the 2009 was a better deal for what I would be getting. I made the deal for the new car and sent the other guy a nice thank you for trying ot work with me.
I also got a notice from Ebay the 2007 had sold that day. The guy that sold it told be that he ended up getting his reserve. I believed him. So he came out better than if I had bought it, and I came out better because I got a new car.
A 2007 3LT in really good shape would probably be worth $31K to me. If it is exactly what you want, be willing to give a little more and get the car to enjoy it all summer. Good luck with the hunt.
Partner....C5's are going for $27,500 with similar options and miles... and C6 1LT's are difficult to resale. Everyone wants 3LT's...
I offered $35k............as it is exactly what I was looking for....but I don't want to be underwater on day one either. Have I gone too far?
All cars are continually depreciating. Any recent model Corvette is going to be depreciating pretty rapidly. It's the cost of owning one. $35K should easliy buy a 2007 3LT unless the dealer is really greedy or has you figured for more.
cartop hits some very good points. maybe 1LTs are hard to sell, but I doubt it. they sell them off the showroom floor. why? because it's a darned good value and it's still a Corvette.

Yes...it is a dealer selling the car...so having a warranty with an unknown is valuable to me.
If just one thing goes wrong in the next 12 months...........
I think after reading all the replies...and the fact that I have found my proverbial needle in the hay stack........in great shape....$35k is...ok It is not the best deal out there...but it is the best deal out there...that I would be happy with.
I can and have found better deals....but if you want all the equipment....and options as if you are ordering a car....and finding it with very low miles and in great shape.....it is worth paying more than the best deal out there.
Thanks for all of you who took time to help out a newbie.
I hope to return the favor to others down the road......
I agree........another good point that was made here earlier is that we are not in "winter" mode here.......I have been shopping for 2 months HARD and this looks like a deal to me.
Options really don't add that much to the price of a used C6 and I have a 4LT. That is also why Z06 prices plummet within 2-3 years. They have to otherwise it won't be hard to say "I'll just buy a new one".
