New GS. 150 mi on her. Perfection for the first three days. THEN No start today after sitting 45 minutes at a mall. The dash looked like it was going to start but when start button pushed all went blank. It came back on a few seconds later with all kinds of check engine warnings. Low fuel, check traction, check engine light on etc. It did this a few times as it cycled thru the start turn on but when pushing the start button all went dark. Windows worked, radio worked, doors opened OK. Called dealer and it was Flat bedded there and Battery was load testing and all checked OK on their machines. I don't know what else was checked but nothing was found. I relayed to the tech what had occurred. Codes cleared and it started right up like nothing had happened. Started and shut down by the tech 20 or so times over a two hour period. Problem didn't reappear. SO I drove it home no problem and parked it in the driveway, cut the grass and cleaned up. About an hour later, You guessed it, same thing. NO start. all sorts of warning messages and all went blank. I called the dealer again and they're coming tomorrow to get it. We went to dinner in our other car and when we came home 2 hrs later I tried it and it fired right up. The check engine light was on as it had set codes but other than that it seemed fine. Anybody had anything like this happen???? I'm kinda bummed!!!!
Bust out the camera and start recording it. This is your second time with the dealer? After the third and it's a no go. It's lemon law time brother. Good luck..
sounds like a bad battery, no matter what the dealer says. get them to replace it.
That's where my thoughts went as I read your story. When all that crazy stuff happens it's "usually" the battery.......but possibly a bad ground or cable. Keep us posted.

Stay cool and give the dealer another chance to duplicate the condition. Let them keep the car for a longer period of time...a few days if necessary. It sounds like the car needs to sit awhile for the condition to occur. The dealer was well-intended, but if they started it 20 times over a 2 hour period, perhaps they didn't let it sit long enough in between attempts. Keep us posted.
Man that's terrible luck. Those are the worst kind, the electrical gremlins that seem to be unpredictable.
I hope that the dealer is able to diagnose the problem an get it fixed for you. Not knowing whether your car will start or not is definitely a bummer AND unacceptable.

Sounds more like thay drained the battery even more......
Cold crank starting the car 20 times and not letting the car run and recharge the battery will weaken an obviously already weakened battery, even more. Who knows if an interior light was left on or something else to put a drain on the car. What if the kid that did the final detail on the car at the dealership had the doors open and the radio turned up for half a day, while he was working on it???
Get the dealer to swap the battery on the car for a new one ASAP, but don't leave the car there and then you can take it from there. If he gives you a hassle, ask him if he rather swap the battery, or replace the whole car on a lemon law gripe? (I think you will get a new battery)
If you do leave it there, then make sure you write down the mileage!!!
Swap Battery. It's pretty common on cars that sat on the lot a few days.
Battery will check okay and next time no start. They replaced mine after it checked okay but wouldn't start for them when I went to pick it up, after it was flat bedded in and checked okay.

Update: I've had it back several days now and it's back to perfection! Dealer had it for three days. The tech was able to duplicate the trouble in the stall. Here's a chronology from the work order, but condensed. He was being helped by TAC. I assume at the factory??
1. Changed battery. Didn't fix
2. Changed BCM. Didn't fix. communications errors
3. Changed PCM. Didn't fix, got worse. Couldn't talk to ECM & EBCM
4. Remove Battery to check connector X184 of a cable. The tech said it was an 86 pin connector. Found male end of pin 25 not fully seated in connector. Repaired connector and tested good. I was told the tech was VERY HAPPY! I concur!
I don't know what that cable connects to or does but I am VERY happy to report that all is well!
Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.

Great!! When I started driving you could fix most things on your car with a screw driver, hammer, etc. Now you need an EE degree and a host of computers. The Vettes are an electrical/electronic disaster waiting to happen. Glad you had a good end experience.
Wow...one of those unusual little gremlins that most of us wouldn't even think about let alone find. Glad they got it and you and your new GS are happy. Maybe your tech deserves a bag of bagels or something. Have fun.
