Ok, as a new Vette owner, I've learned to wave (classic Pontiac guys do it to each other). But the real question is - what's the "correct wave" ???
- keep hand on wheel but stick palm and fingers up?
- remove hand, hold up high, wave side to side (fast . . . or cool slow??)
- combo point and wave
- just raise your hand (the "How" wave)
- or . . . .
The wave is alive here in Minnesota - about 75% - it may be because we only have about 2 months without snow!!!
I agree at the 75% wave ratio, but disagree on the two month MN Vette season, its actually 3.5 months average, and unfortunately, we are almost half way through the season [LOL]!

If I see you...I wave. With the windows up, tint, and divider mediums it gets hard sometimes tho. On interstates I try to flip my lights. He probably thinks I'm warning him of a cop up the road....oh well....he probably needs to slow down anyway. If my window is down...I sticking my arm out the window. No doubt that I'm waving at you. Really...I wave at any 'car guy', whether he's in a A model, old Thunderbird, 55 Chevy, Rustange, or Viper.

Living in "Snottsdale, AZ" cars like or equal to the Corvette are a dime a dozen. However, I'm proud of Scottsdale Corvette owners. I receive a wave around 75% of the time, regardless of generation.
Agreed, the wave is alive and well in Scottsdale! I've only owned my Vette for about four months, but I have exchanges waves with EVERY C6 I've seen on weekends trips and my daily commute. Cheers guys!
you can't wave at vette you see because you are supposed to be looking at the road once in while. I can't tell you how many times I have seen a vette go buy and was too late to wave. If I see one in time I wave everytime. Bought my first vette in 1963 and have been waving ever since. STW
Back in the 50's, when I got my first Vette, all sportscar drivers waved, since it was pretty rare to see one. Then with the rapid increase in numbers of sportcars, including Vettes, it pretty much fell into disuse. A lot of it was snobbery about owning foreign over US made. Glade to see it revived by Vette owners. I still wave when I can.
Interesting note. I got my first Vette in 1955 when I lived in the Wilmington, DE area. I was always amazed a the numbers of Vettes I would wave to back then. Later, learned that GM had given members the duPont family (a major stock holder in GM) some of the first Corvettes to drive and promote.
I must admit, there are time's I'm just not paying attention to on coming traffic. I'm more concerned, at the moment with whats going on around me. There were several times when the wife said, " Hey that Vette owner just waved to you, why didn't you wave back?" They probably thought I didn't care. It wasn't intentional, just absorbed with other traffic. There are reasons, at times, when you won't receive a wave in return. Don't give up.
Daily Driver here (which will hopefuly change in October).
I wave whenever I can. If I pass by another vette and I get no eye contact, I don't even bother... getting a wave back is rare, and it makes me care less and less.
