The brake hubs are rusting on my new vette (delivered as such). Service guy says normal. I say no. Has anyone had them either repainted or changed by GM?
It is in fact normal. The rotors are exposed to the elements. They will also get that way pretty much everytime you wash the car!Goes away after driving 10 minutes or so and hitting the brakes a few times. There are treatments out there for rotors.
It's a fact. For $1400 you could replace them with Baer Eradispeed rotors with anodized aluminum centers. This will minimize rust at the hub, but the rotors themselves will still be iron and will rust when exposed to moisture.
This is normal. I also didn't like it so I cleaned up the rust on the rotor hats and then put VHT paint on them. I did this when I was painting the calipers. I don't know how long it will hold up but for now it looks better.
Your hubs and rotor hats will rust and look terrible over time. All you can really do is sand and paint them or buy different hubs/rotors that don't rust.

Do a search. Several people on here have painted the hubs to prevent rusting and improve the look.
