I was thinking the exact same thing b4 I saw this post.The red is just too loud. Doesn't look right. But, the hood scoop looks nice.
And, I was looking at you bra, which looks so-so because of it's matte black type look all by its lonesome.
Make that large hood scoop matte black so that it ties the bra in, and then you have a bad-*** dynomite combination.

I REALLY like that hood......and I agree that most aftermarket hoods do not add to the car....but this one does. That is a very nice "tribute" hood to the era of big block Corvettes......The center being red does draw attention away from the rest of your car and to the hood, but I could live with that........nice!

At first glance, I really love it.
But it does look kinda similar to a hood that a vendor has been selling lately.. But my only issue w/ their hood is the cowl height. With the stripe on yours though, it's kinda hard to judge the cowl height. Looks a little shorter....and tons better.
I'll bet that hood would look killer in VY w/ a black stripe and red pinstripe.

It's a great looking hood all right and it definitely resembles the L88 / ZL1 hood. The only problem is that the C3 L88s and ZL1s required the bulge due to their high-rise manifolds - the bulge wasn't added strictly for cosmetic reasons. In the case of an unmodified C6, that would not be the case.
What I'd love to see is a special hood like the '68 and '69 427s had for current Z06s; this should come from the factory IMO.
